As someone who would say they are "spiritual", there is a fine line between being "spiritual" and being insane.

There are plenty of people like Charlie's guru. They all have one thing in common, they are great manipulators. They will get you to believe anything they say. You will end up eating the **** out of the palm of their hands if you aren't careful. Most of them have a gift with words and can easily persuade vulnerable people who are looking for some relief.

I don't believe in manifesting, chakra, healing, crystals, angels, it's all BS. At the end of the day, being "spiritual" just means getting to know your inner self and understanding what is truly going on within the body/mind. Ironically, these people end up portraying egotistical qualities while trying to play like they've transcended them.

It's such a shame that people will fall for these scams as many have in the past. If you want to find someone who isn't trying to sell you on fantastical BS check out Eckhart Tolle or Adyashanti. At the end of the day, all spiritual teachings come from within, you are your own best guru. It just takes time to find that inside you.

He's suffering from delusions left, right and center. You'd think winning a lot of money would be fun but for some people it just creates massive stress which can lead to disorders like this. He's on a super slippery slope and tbh I've not met many, if any, who ever come back from it.

Part of me just figures, hey, if someone feels better after doing this, then I can't really judge – no more than I would want them to judge me for feeling better for partaking in some Lagavulin 16 at the end of the day.

On the other hand, another part of me sees almost no distinction between Carrel's "spiritual masterclass" and the televangelist exploits of Kenneth Copeland, Todd Coontz, Jesse Duplantis, etc. Sure, that might be an unfair comparison, but you can see how I got there.
