It's difficult to compute how someone can be such a great critical thinker, to the extent that they win millions in no time playing poker, and then believe they can be healed by some whack job laying their hands on you.

I think somewhere along the way he took too many drugs, or had a concussion, because he is not too far from being certifiably mentally deranged.

That said, I'm the type of dude who thinks pseudo scientists, psychics and the like should all be arrested and tried as criminals or put in hospitals somewhere. A lot of them are straight up con artists.

I think you missed the part where she writes that she spent ages watching the caterpillars with their many legs. Because that shows me she obviously knows what she's talking about.

I don't think she stopped making games with her imagination.

On the other hand, so information provided by this masterclass (judging solely from content points) might be beneficial, as meditation, and clarity of mind does help with improvement of the game/life/etc. It is still not a defined science, so the biggest effect could be just a placebo. But, even in that case, if it improves your game, it is a +ev investment.

I think these 2 might actually connected, winning a lot of money at a very young age is bound to affect your personal development. Most people simply become degens (happened to me as well when I turned pro at 21, minus "winning a lot of money" part), but some seem to react differently. Charlie seems to view himself as a sort of spiritual guru, and Fedor, who seemed really grounded and humble when he first came up, clearly suffers from delusions of grandure and considers himself some sort of business genius.

Yes he could be at the holier than holy stage. Hopefully he wisens up.

I looked over the page and the video listings on Vimeo, seems like there's a fair amount of focus on meditation and life balance, which are certainly important things for anyone. There was a lot of **** about "chakras" and other woo woo nonsense though, so maybe it's half useful information and half garbage. Still a huge waste of money either way

In his eyes all the mathematical minded people are "wrong" with their disdain for exploitative poker. So accordingly they must also be wrong in their disdain for alternative healers. + lots of psychedelics clouded his mind.

I believe it can be open for debate if these sort of things have value. Most pseudoscientific practices are "evolutionary winners" meaning that they are still around after a long time and if they had 0 value people could have stopped doing these things long times ago but they didnt hence there is probably some value in there. (And burden of proof is on those who claim it does not) Even if what she is saying is complete nonsense their could be placebo effect or it could satisfy the need for emotional connection which makes you feel better. It becomes dangerous when they are claiming they can be an alternative treatment in case of serious medical issues.

You cannot call it an evolutionary winner simply because it persisted. Traditional Chinese medicine is mostly proven as bollocks yet it persists. Only right now is the shift happening at pace in China and the unfit practices will not survive in the end. It will not win a god damn thing and it is absolutely not evolving.

If a wacky, out-there process is working for you, then do it. Placebo effect has been measured and we know some of the mechanisms behind it, so if crystal stone therapy helps you in anyway continue to do it.
