Indeed - if you can get there, please do. It will be a wonderful opportunity for people who knew Chad to share stories, which is how memories are cemented and retained. And hopefully the tournament will raise a bunch of money for the TJ Martell Foundation, which supports Leukemia, Cancer, and AIDS research (this was at Chad's family's request).

PokerStars will be matching all the funds that go to the charity (so your $50 rebuy turns into $100 going to TJ Martell) and we're shipping a PCA seat (seat-only) to the first-place finisher and a Montreal Festival main event seat (plus five nights hotel) to the second-place finisher.

But we all know that the prizes are secondary. The point here is to celebrate Chad's life and support important research. I hope a bunch of you will be out there.

Regards, Lee

P.S. Our blog guys, including Brad Willis, will be there. If you have a good Chad Brown story, please track them down and tell it. You might find your story in the blog.

Wow Chad Brown brings back so many memories to the height of the poker boom. I remember watching him on some older broadcasts, he was always a class act and took every win or bad beat in stride. At the same time he wasn't a boring mute at the table. Basically he was great for poker.

It's sad to see he lost his fight with cancer. Thanks for the entertainment over the years Chad, rest in peace.

Very sad news. I really liked to watch him on several TV poker shows some years ago (Binion's and High Stakes Poker). He was always very nice and humble at the tables. A true gentleman of the game.

Thanks for the posting the video, hell of a guy. I remember watching the clip with Chad at the WSOP, playing the stud event that was featured in the video. Always had a lot of respect for his class and cool head.

Never knew him myself but I think dude had to be pretty chill. Was jacked, good attitude on tv, and dated Vanessa rouso. Sad story, how do people get cancer like that? All random????

I played across from him during the 2006 WSOP Main Event. And let me tell you, Chad Brown was every bit the dignified pro. He was extremely friendly with everyone at the table, and even got me over a bit with the rest of the table.

Short Story: I was in the BB and action folded to me. A few opponents at the table were asking me to flip my cards over and I thought, "Why not," and of course I had AA. This got some laughs and good-natured ribbing from the table and Brown gave us all some work-line about him being hesitant about going heads-up against me. This of course was lol-lable because of how far superior his skills always were to mine (I wouldn't really know since there was that big of a gap).

Anyway, appreciate the Chad Brown love and thought I'd post a fond memory of my own. RIP Chad.
