What you say is easy to do in theory, and very hard to do in practice.

There are lots of documented instances where legitimate victims of fraud and crime basically get slowly bled for cash. First, they slip some cash for the initial investigation, then they find out that Y amount is needed for this, and Z amount is need for that and it becomes a protracted cycle of payments that may or may not end in any tangible results. In many cases, you will have one side bribing one police district, and the other side bribing another police district. You may win, or you may loose and get yourself in trouble even though you are the victim. There are constant power struggles between Lumpini PO and adjoining PO in BKK, or BKK officials fighting with Pattaya officials, etc.

Secondly, just because you know some random people who speak Thai and are not compete degens or in tourist industry doesn't mean you know anyone that can actually pull any real strings. And even if you know someone, chances that you don't know them well enough for them to use their limited amount of favors on your behalf. These sorts of trusted connections are developed over lifetime - not during your 1 year stay near the beach.

So ... the story is that he drugs people, hires criminals, participated in Assault, Intimidation, and Bribery, and you have named him in this thread to discourage him.

If you guys want the police involved do it through your embassy. It only needs one of you to do it. If there's complications for US citizens with poker etc. British, Australian or Canadian embassies (if any of you are from there) will take this very seriously and get involved.

They will have contacts higher up the pecking order. I suspect their advice will probably involve telling you to consider going home though.

Further to my above post, if any of you are Australian PM me (don’t have to give your name) and I can give you the correct contact details to seek advice.
The advice I have just received (directly from an ex-Australian foreign Diplomat) is if possible to go through the Canadian embassy if any of the group are from Canada. They have will be increasingly interested in protecting you and dealing with one of their citizens who is conducting criminal activity abroad. If one of you is Canadian this should be an easy win.

However, if a Canadian citizen ends up being hurt or worse by another Canadian citizen on Thai soil after reports are made to him? He wont keep that plum posting for very long and he knows that.

The fact that this is farang v farang should make this all the more easy to deal with. Avoid the Phuket offices and go as a group to Bangkok where there should be offices for all your home countries.

Embassies are pretty useless unless it's about facilitating medium to large business.

Got all your cash and cards stolen and nobody back home to guarantee for the repayment of your repatriation? - Tough luck, you'll have to suck dicks at silom to pay for your flight back home.

Someone is threatening you? - We aren't the local police, just go there.

Want a new passport? - That'll be triple the price you pay back home.

I like the earlier thread about hiring a lawyer, assuming the same condifentiality rules apply in Thailand. Hire someone good/ honest and knowledgable about Thai police rules, etc to figure out the best way to proceed against this clown while protecting your own interests. I also think you're doing the right thing "outing" him publicly, and I wouldn't worry too much about legal consequences as it seems you're certain he is doing these heinious things, drugging people? and someone needs to have the courage to put a stop to it.

If i get out of my house i feel way safer in france than in phuket.
But at the same time i felt way safer in bangkok aswell. Most tourist area in thailand are really shady and you have to be careful there if you dont want to be a casualty of the weekly "accidental" deaths.
