I'm not sure but I think there are incidents similar to this every year particularly during Spring Break with kids simply getting way to drunk and slipping or falling over a balcony or out the window or whatever.

It's not a terribly funny situation but it's not like you can stop kids from getting hammered every spring break. And it's not like they are going to listen any closer when you tell them, "Okay...when you're drunk and on the 10th floor please be careful and try not to fall to your death" because it sounds so ridiculous.

I'm close to 100% certain that his poor bereaved mother has said at least one silent prayer that he was wearing clean underpants when he passed.

To echo other people's sentiments - I'm sorry for the loss of life, the untimely end, and the inevitable grief this will cause, not to mention the humiliation the family will no doubt suffer as a consequence, but in a vacuum, as an abstract, there is some dark comedy value to this whole story.

Kinda reminds me of the Bill Hicks "Today a young man on acid died when he tried to fly from an 11th storey window" routine - vaguely morbid, but I can't help where my mind takes me.

I happen to actually live about 5km away from where it happened! That sort of behaviour is more than normal in magaluf (shagaluf as its known in UK) and you might not believe it but that sort of stuff does actually happen ALOT. I can remember 3 occasions last year where people fell of balconies, 2 of which died, where I am. One of which was off an 8th floor apartment in the middle of the day while I was sitting in the bar opposite. I didnt notice until after everyone was causing a comotion. (he landed by the swimming pool in a family hotel). Typical drunk brits on holiday!
