I think it was close because I believe time was running out on the level and the shorty was going to eat the blinds next. FWIW Esfiandiari suggested Hewitt would probably have to call if he had AT when he was tanking.

Hewitt was BB when calling off with AT.

Don't think it can be reiterated enough: Did you see that ridiculous Hollywood? KK was the bottom of his range.

Hewitt's an Internet player, probably moved to Costa Rica due to BF. He just looked at the odds he was getting. Didn't consider tournament situation, his image, opponent's image, that opponent was obviously an old school player, or tells.

Also, he had been card dead and didn't want to fold a decent hand. Cold 4-bettimg Lamb or O'Dea for 15M with ATC would be a much better play.

a lot has been talked about these 2 hands John played ( called the at from bb and calling off kq)

we spoke to John yesterday and he gave his thoughts on the hand ( Ace 10) as he talked through some of his ideas.

i thinks its one of those spots that if the case hits and he knocks Matt out no one even remembers the hand etc......

$180k pay jump at least and Nov.9 fame if this f**king idiot folded KQ like he should've. There is no explanation to calling this it's the worst call ever, and he still had 3-bet fold equity for over 20bbs if he becomes the short stack anyways. Like Tony G would say: his career is finished! He is gone, gone!

If anyone tries to incorporate math into making this an almost correct call then you are doomed in a live poker game

people get caught in the moment...decisions are made in haste, especially given that they have been playing for 8 days or so... hard to ever put yourself in the same emotional and physical spot and think 'what would I have done'...easy for all of us sitting here and judging any particular hand in a vacum...I remember similar situations with Cunningham, Wascika, Yang's opponents, etc....every year it's the same story (similar to KJ play by Benba)...again...impossible to put yourself in the same spot.
