Can we discuss Cereus specifically? Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

It is illegal?

Can you show me the law that specifically addresses individuals gambling online....and the criminality of such behaviors?

Im not saying they do/dont exist, but I would like to scrutinize them for myself.

I'm not sure... that's what I'm trying to figure out. Basically Cereus is saying FU to the DOJ and continuing to operate. Obviously it may not be the best to play on there but is it illegal for US players to play there if we already have money on the site?

Playing on Cereus right now is as much as crime as it was a week ago.

Good luck to people playing on UB. This reminds of a couple days before Neteller was frozen and people said everything was fine. UB is freerolling you. You are not freerolling them.

which is to say it's not a crime at all. it has never been against the law to play online poker and it's still not.

So?

Edit: Is it better to be able to play with your money or not to be able to play with your money?

This

Friday events did not change legality of playing poker online (UB or not)

What they did change is that it might be very hard for US players to depost/withdraw

Those kind of posts are beginning to scare the s*** out of me. I have money money on Absolute and I'm Canadian so I can withdraw if I want but I also plan to keep playing a lot on this website, therefore I'd like to know if there is really serious chances that Cereus will ''steal'' our money in the future or if they will get arrest etc. I know that some of the people who talked trash about Cereus do not know what is it they are talking about but I'm still worried.

No, its better not to support the people who pierced the trust placed in the online environment by players. I would think with your somewhat large post count you might have seen one or two of the posts about it. Or is it now alright to support felons who ass-raped players just because they are one of a few diminished options?

i don't get how AP/UB can continue to let americans play, but not deposit/withdraw. One of the two has to change pretty soon or there will be no one playing.

I dont want to play until we figure out what is going on. It would suck to play and play and play only to find out we are screwed out of our money anyway.

Plus i grinded quite a bit on FTP and Stars as well, and its very disheartening that i can even get on and play there. And Merge has the softest cash games by far imo, still got some money on there but just in such a crap mood about this poker thing makes me not wanna play at all ugh

Well luckily for me, Uncle Sam is looking out for me so that's the only place I can play.

Yeah it will take a few days to get another sham processor set up imo.

It's also fairly likely they just shut down withdrawls to stop panic run imo.

i thought they stopped withdrawals because the money was confiscated by the DOJ. Isn't that why FTP/Stars stopped withdrawals?

There's no indication that's actually the case.

I agree, I can't bring myself to play without the peace of mind of knowing that I will be able to cashout my winnings. Hopefully absolute can resolve this issue soon.

No, as far as we know nothing has been seized as of yet. But the withdrawals stopped because the processors are what got them into this mess to begin with. I agree with tomveil that it will take a few days or a week or two to set up new processors that are still breaking the very same laws they were before, but will do a better job of not getting caught.

When it seems you've seen everything, a 2p2 mod obv acting only in his own self-interest has taken it upon himself to go hog wild shilling for *******s. I guess you just couldn't wait for this day, huh?

I guess they probably wouldn't dare cheat now, they obviously have too much to lose... wait, what?
