Can we discuss Cereus specifically? Can we discuss Cereus specifically?

just spoke to live chat as well so i thought i would share this for any other concerned non-US players.

me: hello
Payouts: Thank you for contacting the Payments Department. My name is AL. How may I help you today?
me: hi i just had a quick question about whats happening at AP since the fbi thing yesterday
me: im in australia and have 1 pending local bank transfer payout
me: im just wondering if that will still go through fine?
Payouts: Yes.
me: so non-US players are just business as usual?
Payouts: As you may have heard, we have had to suspend real money poker service to people from the US due to legal developments there.
Payouts: These developments are confided to the US and do not have any impact on international customer's ability to continue using our service
me: ok excellent, thats very good to hear
Payouts: Please be aware that we are currently experiencing high volume of customer inquiries while payouts are being reviewed. Please be assured players balances are safe. There is no cause for concern.”

Well if thats true why are so many people saying cereus are still taking players? I think they might be due to lack of extradition treaty with the US- isnt that why the former owner of Bodog (current?) hangs out in antigua or somewhere?

This sounds a bit like the official statement sort of language, not just one rep typing it in because of this conversation.
Given that they confided to the US why would they tell an Aussie about it? Bastards!

I spoke to VIP support 5 min ago, they are available now in the cashier and clearly was NOT told that withdrawls are not available although it might take a lil bit more time to be processed than usual and he couldn't tell me exactly what the time frame is regarding cashouts-mine is has been pending since yesterday morning for Neteller. He also pointed out that they are working on an alternate webpage and that a statement will be released soon. I am not from the US.

I requested some money with WU yesterday right as this news was breaking. I emailed support today asking if it would still be processed in the normal 48 hour time frame. They sent back some generic email saying that withdrawals were not being processed at this time. I replied asking if my money was just stuck in limbo and ~20 minutes later it was back in my account.

Still tons of people playing from the US on the site, so I dunno what that is about. Maybe he just means the cashier service.

Just 2 mins ago tried withdrawal and received pop up informing me that cashouts were suspended.

20 mins ago got off phone with UB support who informed me that cashouts/Xsfers are suspended and have been since last night.

Who is going to want to deal with Cereus payouts when they will likely have the world police on their ass quicker than you can say Usain Bolt?

If someone who has cashed out today through bank wire could keep me updated whether it works or not I would really appreciate it.

Tom, when you say they've disabled cashouts are you talking about UB? Because although I haven't used it, I still have the options to cash out via check, check by courier, or bank wire.

I just tried cashing out and I got a pop up window saying that it currently is not available..... blah
ahahahahahahahaa
funny how all the morons come out of the woodwork and praise UB/AP because they are guaranteeing they can play and DEPOSIT LOL. Obviously they want more of your money and you are stupid enough to give it to them. I hope there are more stories like this and I hope they remain unresolved. Please post more of the above just confine it to this thread because noone has a right to bitch about that site anymore (while being a member) unless they were affected by the scandal. If you're stupid enough to play on it now you deserve EVERYTHING you get.

I'm sure you got your own problems etc but I don't apologize for my insensitivity - we have always been part of a Darwinesque business, and the bottom of the food chain gets eaten.

Anyone that plays at UB has long since fell off the food chain anyways...

withdrawals, deposits as well as transfers all suspended atm. Games are dead as well.

play some Kenos obv.

EDIT: Can't UB use the loophole that since they don't provide fair games they are not really offering a "gambling" game? They only offer the pretense of a fair game and the money people deposit is only for their "entertainment purposes" since they have no chance to ever win money unless they are directly related to, or have dirt on, a UB/AP employee??

That's a pretty good rant but there's no depositing going on. Just a bunch of players at the tables playing poker. How are you spending your Saturday?

Playing sngs on Full Tilt thankyou . Canadian Gov't isn't ******ed and paranoid.

EDIT: Also, I wouldn't call what happens on UB "playing poker" but whatever helps you believe you aren't being cheated

Luckily, here in Washington State the government ALREADY forced me onto the most shady site! Thanks Uncle Sam!

Srsly wtf. How stupid do they have to be to see the billions they are burning by being stuck in the 19th century?

Roomate you say? I'll start building a bunk bed so there is more room for activities

I should also note that the Feds must be really bored since they cleaned up all the gang warfare and crack and guns and prostitution so they need something to keep them occupied.

It reminds me of record companies vs. Napster. All they had to do was reach an agreement and everything would have been started off well. Instead they wanted a fight, Napster dissolved and 1234883312108 other sites took over, and the genie was out of the bottle until they finally got their act together and you started seeing things like Itunes (although Grooveshark >>>>>>>>>>> Napster anyway)

If they would have just let the companies in the first place, they'd already be banking serious cash, the sites would have more players, and be more trusted.

As somebody else mentioned somewhere, this was just a self-fulfilling prophecy. The govt shut out all legitimate means of doing business, so now they can 'go after' the sites for scary things like 'money laundering' and 'bank fraud'.

Has it really come to the point where people would rather play at UB than not sit out the gov't though?

I guess since the threat isn't likely to ever surface here I don't really know how I would react, but I can't imagine ever going back to Cereus after the things they have done.

That said, I do love poker and would try to find any way to play despite what my gov't might say or do, but would I go back to UB?

I don't know, maybe you are right and I am just being an altruistic d-bag but it really burns me that they can find profit where other companies are toeing the line...

Ironically this attitude from people in the know makes the games much softer at Cereus than other sites

I requested a payout to Moneybookers - Cashier says "Authorized" so if everything is OK I'll be seeing the money in the account today.

I did ask live chat support earlier today if payouts were still going through and was told that "US suspended" but when I pointed out that I was from the UK the rep said there wasn't going to be a problem.

And the SSPLO games were very good today.

Yes I know, and that fact makes me a sad panda

I apologize if this has been asked or addressed already... but as it stands now is it illegal for us to play if we already have money on Cereus or is the law still the same regarding the processing of the transactions to and from sites like Cereus? Do I have to worry about someone from the DOJ busting down my door if I want to play a couple sngs?
