Are there any players that are pushing for a class action lawsuit against the licensing body KGC?

i.e. similar to what Tony G is pursuing vs AGCC/FTP http://www.pokernews.com/news/2011/1...sion-11194.htm

Surely KGC has some $?

Works for me too. As far as works means anything for a cashier that doesn't cash out.

Will try to send them a mail later tonight.

I also think people outside the US should have priority, we are actually legally able to play unlike you.
Another expert in US law. Tell me, is bank fraud a crime in your country? Oh, it is. Well then, you can get your ass to the back of the line too.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Facts? As far as Ive heard their were no official statements by the poker sites, and they have until Oct. 31st to do so? So were all under the same impressions from what I am seeing: want me to recap or review what I saw or am seeing?

If US Players were allowed to play, the sites wouldn't have put US funds under other "accounts" to 'hide the trail of money' (creating fraudulent funds which were seized by US government, yes) If US players were allowed to play then you'd currently still be playing, and there would have been no Black Friday.

US players are currently not playing (or even allowed) on most gambling/gaming sites. Canadian players are welcome at every single gambling/gaming site there is.

Since Black Friday Ive only heard about Canadian players receiving payouts, me included. If USA players received money, that's great. But I doubt any US players are getting anywhere close to their money today or recently which sucks, while Canadian players are still cashing out.

There you go, this is what I know or have seen. Am I generally way off from what is going on here? Or is that basically what happened/is happening? I only play on one poker site and I dont read the forums or news often.

I merely just stated what is happening and what I have seen, and that is all. Other than what I said, I dont see too many other facts, other than misinformation, rumors and ideas about what is going to happen, did anyone discuss what has already happened, rather than what May or Might happen?

That hurts.

cliffs?
10-22-2011 , 06:25 PM
Hopefully these are decent Cliffs:

1. Cereus says nothing, pays non-US players piecemeal payouts between 250-1k.

2. Payouts stop.

3. New York Times reporter says Cereus exec told her a payout program for US players would start shortly. Never confirmed.

4. Cashier stops working.

5. Cashier works again.

6. DOJ's 10/31 deadline for a statement from Cereus looms. Cereus still quiet.

p.s. cashier working for me

Like mentioned in this thread earlier. The times reporter took back that statement already.

For sure we are not going to get payed until the 31st. The only thing I wonder is if there will be a statement from the DoJ or KGC after that day.
I dont see mich chance either getting back our money at this point but I do think its better trying something than just doing nothing. Trying to focus that we all send some emails and make some phonecalls towards DoJ and KGC would be a good thing imho. The reason beeing that they are the only one who do have contact to people from Cereus. Currently we cant even reach their support because it seems like they have send their staff to "vacation".

The fact that cashier did not work and now works again(for most) at least tells us there are still some people working on that site. Therefor I see the chance of getting out money >0%
I dont have a lot of info but I know something is going on currently at cereus and KGC knows about it. So making some pressure on them might give us some infos.

just my 2 cents..
10-22-2011 , 07:45 PM
Is there any info on whether or not CEREUS is looking for investors?

Hello,
We apologise for the delayed reply to your email. Since the April 15 indictments concerning Blanca (UB and AbsolutePoker), the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) has continually monitored the overall situation. Special emphasis has always been placed on the player funds at Blanca.
We are pleased to advise you the legal negotiations are nearing completion, we expect to provide a formal advisory very shortly, as always player balances are the Commission's highest priority.
The KGC will post advisories on www.gamingcommission.ca as information becomes available for public release.

Wishful thinking here but any chance the KGC puts up some of their own money to help? Although If I were them I probably would not give away $$$ and just hope my kahnawake jurisdiction makes it difficult for legal action from the players. If they feel vulnerable tho they might end up doing the right thing somehow.

I have not followed UB that closely last few years but it always seemed to me like the KGC and UB were always pretty close dating back to the Joe Norton days (certainly them not kicking out UB after the scandal was a sign of a solid "partnership"). KGC might end up being the key group in all this mess.
