Why is this a hard concept for you to follow?

I'm interested in all of these allegations, but find it laughable that people are offended with anyone that dares to state the obvious, Martin is not a stand up guy and anything he says of this magnitude needs to be closely scrutinized and fact checked.

to people saying "I wish the accuser wasn't so shady himself" - given what we know, I don't think it would be possible for a decent person to stay in Bryn's orbit long enough to obtain this kind of info, unless they'd be running some sort of an undercover operation. Anyone concerned with ethics would just get the hell out of there really fast, and maybe have 1-2 vague stories without any proof.

Watching the guy on Polk's podcast, his story is so convoluted that it's hard to think he'd be making all of this up, so many different points and tangents he keeps going off on.

You can be unethical and intelligent eloquent and professional. I would expect that kind of ppl running million dollar operation. Martin present himself as a fool and pothead.

If what Martin says is true, it sounds like he was merely a warm body used to fill a spot in the whole agency/affiliate scheme. Would make since he mentioned that Bryn would get mad at him for not signing up enough players and "whales". He was willing to cheat, so he got a spot. He wasn't running any type of million dollar operation, that was Bryn, who has all the traits you have described.

He was also honest at the very beginning. When he was asked to introduce himself, he answered that he didn't know what to say.

In my experience, this is basically just what many people who spend all of their time abusing marijuana and using psychedelic drugs constantly are like, at least in terms of ability to present themselves in a professional manner. I actually found Martin surprisingly well spoken and coherent considering all of that. While some stuff was a little convoluted, he got his points across quite well, even if he lacked "eloquence" in doing so. When I saw the comments here I expected much worse, but I think his point of view is quite clear, he did provide evidence while promising to send Doug even more of said evidence, and it's clear that his story can be corroborated by other sources, many of whom were abused and victimized by Bryn. While this allegations do not surprise me whatsoever (which seems like a very common sentiment being expressed in this community), I look forward to seeing them becoming more public, with more proof provided-especially after this "Sergei" literally admitted to cheating. The thing is that, based upon this interviews, Bryn's major backees will owe him a *lot* in a number of ways, perhaps in terms of funding their own lifestyles attached to his. I find it interesting but unsurprising that none of the large number of assuredly high profile players connected to him have come here to defend his character. I think they can all see the writing on the wall at this point.

Also anyone that follows tournament poker should have already known the name Martin Zamani. He is not and unknown random guy.

No **** there are good people in poker, but it’s clear poker attracts an abnormal amount of scumbags compared to other communities. It’s undeniable.

I'd say he was just nervous, it's common to develop some kind of tic when you're feeling anxiety/adrenaline dump type of thing, so if you're hitting the pen as a calming mechanism or whatever it's easy to see how you can get high as balls and start to wander later on in the interview.

personally i believe everything he said besides teh GG rng (but that was expressed as an opinion anyway)

Didn’t realize there were so many anti-weed people on twoplustwo… which is funny because society looks down on poker players and gamblers way more than they look down on pot smokers now. As it should be.

I'm not anti weed but I do think it's pretty inappropriate setting to be stoned to the point where you ramble and can't remember facts. Just like I'm not anti alcohol but if some1 was getting hammered during an interview like that I'd think he's probably an alcoholic.

Of course Martin is going to have had a shady past, nobody reputable in their right mind would put up with all of the **** from Bryn we heard on the interview long term but it's pretty clear in my opinion he's telling the truth as he remembers it.

Does nobody in this thread read body language when they play poker? He even outright refuses to answer questions at times when it'd incriminate someone he considered a friend or something he doesn't want to be public etc (I only watched the podcast once so i'd need to rewatch to get the timestamps), if the entire story was made up and scripted it would make no sense for him to conduct the interview the way he did, to be clearly pausing to recall information at times etc.

You have to remember he's calling out an alleged multimillionaire psychopath with a devoted cultlike following and in doing so admitting that he was a small part of a massive cheating operation led by Bryn who is clearly pretty litigious, of course he's going to be nervous and full of adrenaline and if he smokes he's going to smoke weed to calm down (I don't smoke myself but a bunch of my close friends do, and it helps them when they're stressed and it's the first thing they go to etc to calm down)

I would be very, very shocked if he isn't telling the truth or at least mostly telling the truth.

Soooooo after listening to Polk's podcast, if Zamani is to be believed (and imo the story is just too insane to be all fiction), Bryn is basically a leader of a cult that's populated by cheating poker players.

There's going to be plenty that disregard Zamani's claims given the state he was in during the Polk interview. Though I stopped smoking pot many years ago, I've been very pro- marijuana throughout my life. I'm not going to automatically discredit Zamani because he was stoned out of his mind during the interview, but I do understand it's a bad look to a lot of people and it certainly hurts his credibility with many. I'm sure this is the tip of the iceberg at this point and more of this story will continue to come out over the coming weeks and months.
