I said "Anyone who has ever gotten coaching while playing". I did not mean to imply that all coaching occurs live. There were lots of coaches that did coach that way though.

I read your comment to mean, "anyone playing midstakes and above that has received coaching."

My apologies, I see now that I misunderstood.

No worries. I could have worded it better.

I hate Brian Hastings (and CTS and Townsend) because he took Isildur's money unfairly in 2010 and that's the worst thing that happened to poker that year. Whoever agreeing that Isilidur winning a lot of money was good for poker and Isildur losing was bad will agree with me. With that perspective. I find it very ironic that BH considers himself as a "promoter of the game of poker".

People hating on Hastings need to chill out. What he did affected like 5 people and he's offered money back. This thread is just another black eye for poker and you guys keep feeding it w your hate. Take out your frustrations elsewhere imo.

Lucky for us here, nobody outside cares so this thread is inconsequential for the game of online poker.

Not true.

Everyone who wants to play an honest game are pissed about what he and his ilk do, and so are all affected by what he has been doing.

Also, he's only offered money back to those who have caught him cheating and called him out on it. There are obviously a bunch of other players out there who played w/ the NoelHayes account.

keep dreaming if you think PokerStars is gonna do anything to Ike or Jason even if there is 100% proof of any wrong doing by them

So - honest poker players don't want to see that poker is honest when they play?

People that cheat at high stakes take away the belief that you can strive to move up in stakes on a level playing field if you work at your game.

Also your avatar is annoying as ****, so it suits you well I guess.

Are Stingers cheating ranges still totally unbalanced?

Latest update, you can now add Ike Haxton to the controversy.

At the very least, extremely unethical for Ike to have known. Stay silent. And thus benefiting from being in the know.

When online poker's shadiness has reached the likes of Isaac Haxton, who seemingly is a stand-up guy, you know the industry is ****ed.

^ don't really think you can blame Ike just yet; if, for example, he told the bigwigs at Stars "hey I heard Brian Hastings is MAing and playing on the NoelHayes account" then he is blameless IMO as it's then Stars' responsibility.

OTOH, if Hastings was like "Hey Ike I'm NoelHayes lol" and Ike was just like "lol", then yeah, he's in the wrong.

I think it'll be something close to scenario one, though. At least I hope it is, Ike is one of the few good guys left.

Just a guess, but I doubt Hastings is making Ike privy to the information if he things Ike is immediately going to PS with the info.

Anything for an edge I guess. And I just mean that with regard to Ike. Hastings is just a fullblown scumbag cheater obv.

Has Hastings ever refunded Viktor any money, both for the 2009 incident or the Noel Hayes?

When does 'an honest game' start to get fuzzy?
Am I playing in an 'honest game' if my opponents are using aggregated databases of my historical play? Because they all are.

Is it any less ethical to take counter-measures to evade that?

Here's a protip: Crying about angle shooting in online poker is like crying because the drug dealer shorted you a half gram. Sure, in a theoretically perfect world we'd be entitled to impeccable integrity in our drug deals and online poker but in the real world, human nature being what it is, there are certain realms where that cannot be expected. Online poker is one.

The astonishing naivete demonstrated by a certain type of poker player has never ceased to amaze me. I guess that's what happens when Autistics and 'game theorists' enter a world that is made up of much baser instincts.

You don't really know what went on behind the scenes.
Also, it's not Ike's duty to report unethical behaviour or cheating on Pokerstars.

I didn't read anything about Ike being involved etc, so maybe I'm dead wrong.

The accusation (via bakes, so reliable) is that Ike knew and didn't say anything.

I'm a little undecided by how bad this really is.
