This story is so funny and the way Hastings is handling it makes him look 1000x worse.

For the record just made these lyrics for the lolz, not a Hastings hater and while I don't agree with what he did I do have some empathy for his situation. so I feel a little bad for making this but it fit too well not to do it.

I didn't even realize the name Noel Hayes was prevalent in the poker/gambling world. I listened to the PNPod and they said Noel Hayes is a notorious gambler from Ireland (???). Pretty shady using that name. Lost so much respect for Hastings. He seemed like one of the premier poker players who actually was a good guy, smh. Poker players suck.

Give the guy a break. Once the WSOP is over I'm sure he'll start the hunt for the real killers.

By my estimates 90% of the people who are giving Hastings a hard time, have multi-accounted/shared accts, used VPNs, in the past, so stfu and stop being a bunch of hypocrites.

I'd love to see how you came about this figure. Can you show your detailed working out please?

Because pretty much everyone shared accts for cash-games pre-black friday. Look at some of the original CR videos, the CR pros didn't even hide it.

And playing multiple accounts in online tournaments is way too easy to get away with assuming ur not a total ****** about it.

So, you just pulled this figure out of your arse based on the people you know?

Seems solid...

Yep

What % would you guess?
Assuming its someone that's played online > 5 years lets say who is a semi-pro at least, not some random casual player..

The actual indiscretion committed by Hastings is rather minor. All he had to do was make a token apology and show a little contrition. There's a new poker scandal virtually every day. Todays news is tomorrow's fish and chip wrapping.

His bizarre, sociopathic behaviour in response to being called out is probably doing more damage to his reputation than the actual misdemeanour.

I thought this was about people giving him a hard time in this thread - you are changing the parameters now - your argument is invalid and there is no point continuing this minor derail.

By estimates, you mean reandom guesses?
Multi-accounting is not the same as VPN'ing, where no player is being given an unfair advantage over the other.

I can completely understand when a US poker player uses a VPN in order to play on PokerStars while still being in the US. As long as that player is using a quality VPN with their normal account the odds on being geolocated are very small. But at least everyone knows who they are playing against.

It is sad that so many US players had to relocate primarily to Canada or Mexico to make a living online. It is even more ridiculous that a US on-line player has to leave the country to play SCOOP. However, with quality VPNs a US player still present in the US is not breaking any US law. Granted that player is violating the PS terms of service and UK law. But if the player is multi accounting they are breaking the same UK law ass if using a VPN in the US so why couldn't Hastings just used his normal account and the VPN from the US?

Online players are pussies for the most part and Hastings never been roughed up by a loanshark or had his fingers or arms broken by someone he scamed.... that's why he can afford to laugh in your faces.
Different generation.

+1 from another older dude

Seems like part of his game selection skill is knowing who to cheat and hustle.

Yeah, they're such pussies for not wanting take a week or more out of their lives, and spend several thousand dollars to travel to another country, hope they can find and isolate the person, and then commit a violent crime against them. Oh and hope to not get caught.
