Just so I'm clear on why people think he cheated on the bracelet bets. People think that because he was MA'ing it was cheating because people were supposed to think he was "rusty." Which is prett lol to begin with. But the person the majority of the bets were with somebody who already knew?

Amaya Gaming Exec 1: What do we do about the latest US player caught multi-accounting. its a big deal on the internet right now.
Amaya Baming Exec 2: Why should we care if were earning rake on these guys. Besides, Venessa went into the internet thread and told em it wasn't that big a deal.
Amaya Gaming Exec 3: Its a big deal if it makes it harder to get back into the US market, or the DOJ comes after us again.
Amaya Gaming Exec1: I guess we have to take some action. We need to ban that Stinger guy. caught obviously. But what about those Team Pros that knew about it and didn't report it. The stories all over the web.
Amya Gaming Exec 3: Its not going to look good trying to get into the US market if we have people on the payroll that are facilitating the US multi accounting players or not reporting clear violations of our rules.
Amya Gaming Exec 2: Venessa said it wasn't that big a deal, people do it all the time.
Amaya Gaming Exec 3: Well she's gotta go. We have an agreement with the DOJ, we don't want to **** with those guys, it cost PS 1/2 Billion last time. Besides, we just signed Cristiano Ronaldo and he has 103 million facebook fans.
The best part of this thread is jungleman coming in saying its not a big deal because saying otherwise would be morally inconsistent with his MA'ing past
That's why I also used quotation marks around "right thing." I agree with you that it isn't, I'm just saying in the minds of people who do this, they believe it's more right than not to tell the people they're playing. I would agree that it is wrong to multiaccount, but if you're going to do it, it's more right to tell people than to not tell people. That's all I mean about the gray area.
OMG, that's not a gray area. Didn't you just pass the bar?
I'm intrigued by Pads' post. We know harrington was playing on the EireAbu account at the time that his longerpig account stopped playing (I can post more info but I think this is considered fact by now). Makes a lot of sense that harrington could be involved here in some way.
A second option is a full court press by supplying this information to the DOJ section charged with on-line poker regulation in the US. The DOJ has a hard on for PokerStars play illegally occurring in the US and would cherish the opportunity to find a poster boy to bring to federal court. Here Hasting's has admitted to violating federal law by playing Stars from the US.
It pains me to know that there are people this dumb in the world.
What are they going to bring him to court for? What crime did he commit?
The court option would involve DOJ filing suit against PokerStars for allowing unregulated interstate and international poker to occur from within the US. Even though no on-line poker player in the US has never been prosecuted for playing poker in the US the DOJ could file suit against Hastings for tax evasion associated with his unreported on-line earnings which he undoubtedly has not acknowledged while playing with out of the country accounts. The DOJ could go back 5 years and make Hasting's life a tax evasion poker hell. That is how a good attorney back doors on-line play in the US especially when cheating occurs.
Why did he have to move in with his parents.. Did he go busto or wtf???? With all this run bad i think he will come out and say hes "quiting poker for good" then go and MA again.. Lmao
Making a "big deal" about things like this is vital, even if it's bad publicity for poker. Keeping silent for the sake of promoting the game is superduper hypocrite and will hurt the game more in the long run (a concept poker pro's should be familiar with).
Want to promote the game we love?
1. Keep your integrity, don't cheat, MA, etc..
2. Praise high profile players for doing nothing more than doing the above and having good results, we have to balance or high-view thread range. F.E. in stead of constantly bashing Negreanu for dumb things like hairplugs, being very outspoken, not playing technically perfect, etc.. we could just highlight the fact that he's been in the spotlights in the poker community since forever without ever doing something shady (in before ppl nitpick about him not being hard enough on Lindgren)
Also fwiw i don't think pointing fingers at ppl who keep quiet for some time about sth like this is very usefull. Ideally everyone would report this immediately but that's just too much to ask at this point in our community where keeping your own integrity seems to be a big enough task on it's self
