Just listened to it:

Cliffs:
-Fedor gives people he doesn't know respect but couldn't stand hastings
-Hastings was playing horrible
-Hastings was being a jerk to whole table even though he had huge stack
-Fedor busts Him and Hastings says something like "These ****ing kids" and snap leaves table.

This summer Fedor tilted Hastings by busting him... Then Hastings says something along the lines of "just busted vs most outrageous hand ever played" about some PLO hand calling out a pro, then when asked to clarify says something along the lines of "actually probably 2nd outrageous fedor's hand".

Fedor insta says "let's crossbook everything". Hastings says "we can book whatever" and Fedor makes something like a 10% proposal on everything. Brian immediately says it's too big and too much risk.

Bitch.

Not sure if you're serious but if you are cross booking is essentially increasing the size of your stakes via a sidebet. If you crossbook for 10% for say the WSOP and win 100k the other person must pay you 10k obviously the same is also true for the opposite, lose 100k pay the person u bet against 10k

And I think a lot of people who aren't effected by this (or won't be as lets be real, this is a non-story outside the poker community) are rallying with pitchforks at the ready.

See above....and as for whether or not I'm successful. I'm on a journey, and am a poker player. I love this game, its truly fascinating and tests me on every level every day. I never said anything about agreeing with how he's handling it, or to "stop because it's bad for business", I was trying to appeal to sensibility, and you obviously disagree with my opinion. No worries.

Ugh...gossips? well if "everyone does it", then it can't be that bad right? Bullies? I think bullies are terrible people. The person you describe (the boss at the dealership) in your 2nd paragraph is a bully IMO, and I would hope those that know me would never consider me a bully. As far as scamming substantial money its another disagreement on the meaning of the word "scam". Do I believe buying the hand histories to train to beat isildur, or the Noel Hayes/BNB MA was ethical? Maybe not, but I don't see it as a level 10 offense worthy of 2263 posts basically saying the same 4 or 5 character bashing things in different ways.

With my post, I was trying to appeal to a perspective that I have. And I realize I probably wasn't as clear as I should have been, as it could be construed as being an apologist, which I am not. Apparently those who responded or disagreed and moved on don't share my opinion or view on this situation. Which is completely fine to disagree. If everyone agreed on everything, life would be pretty boring.

Anyone got any fun ideas for an avatar? I need a new one.
A Henry Kissinger photo would be appropriate by the sounds of your post.

To use another example, I've played Lars Luzak on probably 5 accounts in the past year. For a session or 2, yes he would gain an edge, but myself and most HS regulars are smart enough to spot when they're playing a familiar opponent. Also, after 100 hands or so I could make a judgment on the opponent's general skill level and decide whether or not it's a good idea to continue, so those who played Brian must have still thought the games were plenty good, it's not like knowing that it's Brian Townsend should really change anything, just whether it's a good regular or not.

Also, Brian only used the accounts in 6 handed PLO games, in which I believe he was a losing player at the time he created the accounts (as was I a year ago or so). He did occasionally play HU at 6 handed tables but would not do so against players who denied him action on his known accounts. Basically what I'm trying to say is edge wasn't his reason for doing this, it's still wrong, but comparing it to seeing hole cards or playing several accounts in the same tourney is ridiculous.
Someone called him out for throwing larsluzak under the bus and this was his reply.

I was just using him as an example, not trying to rat him out or something, it's pretty universally known, and I don't really care, I was just making a point about playing against multiaccounters being not a big deal. There are several other players who do this (HORSE games are rampant with it) and it's unfair to single out Brian, although like I said, I don't agree with what Brian did or any of these guys do and it's wrong.
