That isn't directly referring to VPNs and VPNs are used for legitimate purposes all the time. VPNs are NOT against the terms of service, hiding your location to circumvent restrictions is. (which can be done more than 1 way)

I'm too tired right now to figure this **** out by myself, but can anyone explain how he can create another account when he already has one? If I'm not mistaken the account was from Ireland so Brian must have known someone there to act as the account's creator, right?

When I signed up on Stars I had to validate a lot of **** just to make sure I wasn't multi-accounting or anything. Like sending in ID and bills and ****.

What they are saying is: "ZMOG! He's playing from a country that is forbidden to play on Stars"

It's pretty easy to ignore that they don't know a VPN is not against the terms and just address the core issue of their concerns, which is playing from a restricted area. You know, if you're not a life nit, that is.

He basically made an arrangement with another account holder to play on there account, because he wanted to play from home in the USA. He used some circumventing to hide his location from the poker stars integrity team. He then shared this information with a select few other players for there benefit, as well he left an incriminating private message in these forums admitting to it. Cliffs in a nutshell.

Or you know, if you don't make an assumption about what people think using a VPN means. The guy specifically said, "VPNing is against Stars TOS." when it is not. You're essentially saying guns are against the law because murder is.

The real Noel Hayes had a verified Stars account ("NoelHayes"). He allegedly rented out this screenname (and also "BigNittyBanker" on FTP) to Hastings, possibly for a share of the winnings, or maybe a one-off payment. Hastings evidently played on the NoelHayes account, and won some money. Hayes cashed out Hasting's winnings to Hayes' legitimate bank account (or Skrill or whatever) with a plan to send the cash to Hastings.

Other types of multi-accounting involve starting new accounts with fake passports, or the "borrowing" of ID from friends and family. This case was different because the NoelHayes screenname had existed for years and was to all intents and purposes the verified account of a known recreational player/whale.

I wasn;t trolling was generally just confused. I assumed Noel Hayes wasn't involved other than selling his screen name. I didn't realize Hastings used Noel's bank account.

When I went to France Pokerstars wouldn't let me do anything on the site. So I was just surprised it's so easy for Hastings to multiaccount from florida.
