I had wonderfull weeks and decided to cash out ( unfortunately my cashout option was blocked due to hacker attack ( yeah i had alot of nasty stuff last few months) , and now iam put into a big hole. I was the first person that outed it.... and many other people got scammed aswell in the last weeks and maybe you got my 3k$ , brandon owed me back , have fun with it... i need it so damn urgent and now iam totally nasty stuff. I DONT GET IT! POST IT! when something is wrong.. and in your case its absolutly A MUST HAVE to do so... cant find any other words for it.

Brandon Owes me ~1150 from swaps. We had done a few transfers of his stars for bofa, probably 5k worth and never had a problem. I'm lucky he didn't ask for more because he was vouched for by someone I trust and we had good history.

Kid is definitely strange. He was giving me random freerolls similar to those posted earlier. He would give me like a 2% freeroll in a tourney he was already deep in.

Barnes sold me FTP funds. It was kind of a complicated sale though, in that he was selling the money he bought from 2 of his friends. (one friend had ~1500 in account and one had around ~13500). essentially, i am supposed to get back 15k from the sale, and i dont really mind how i get it (in terms of what account/how much in those accounts). I have recently found out that there isnt 15k in those accounts combined, its much less. Brandon contacted my staking partner and said he would pay back 500 a week starting now (few weeks ago). He paid 500 and havent seen a dime since.

Brandon has had many demons in his life. Hopefully he can turn this around. He is a smart kid who is talented at poker (as long as he plays low enough) and he could get this money back easily. but he had the taste of the high stakes, and not sure if he can grind lower to get this back now.

Accidentally stumbled upon this (NVG addict) and although I stay clear of drama in and around the poker world, I feel morally obligated to chime in w a similar story, in a few words.

Basically during EPT Prague, iirc Sunday the 15th, before I was starting my sesh (or Sat, can check on Fb) he all of a sudden msgs me on FB asking for "just" 2k so he can start(finish?) his session on Stars or FTP, until "his backer will send back to me". I denied because I lock my transfers while away on trips and also usually don't send $ out to anyone, unless I know them REALLY well or have the means to recoup that $$ safely if **** happens.

He insisted for a while , I politely told him no can do, and he let it go. We know / met live but we're not that close regardless. I feel this is relevant because if he, in fact, did not have a backer at the time, it sounds to me like I was about to get...scammed ?

Anyways, tl;dr , I can haz fb messenger screenshots, if needed be. GL to those with $ locked up, hopefully it's just a "coincidence"


P.S. Just looked on FB: in fact, it was on the 13th, then he tried again on the 16th, with this message:

he was backed by brian hastings for a bit, i PM'ed hastings about my concerns about barnes and that fat ******* decided not to respond, i feel like this could have been avoided if he just came out with this info sooner

pretty sure barnes lost 200k+ at highstakes HUNL because he is absolutely awful at poker but somehow convinced hastings to back him.

anyways, he owes a bunch of money he "escrowed" for fantasy football leagues a while ago, I was always convinced he was just a scammer but no one believed me so here we are

He won a lot for hastings in live mtts, and lost a lot in huge HU NL games. He had separate deals so he got a nice cashout from the deal and was dropped in huge MU (so i heard).

checked about his reputation before i made the transfer and couldnt read anything negative at first , sure when reading 100x post maybe i would find something but thats not the case.

Dont want to blame someone , but i just dont get it. when the details are kinda clear like in that case why not just make a thread? if its not the case he will post and if not and he cant get a quick solution its done and alot of guys wouldnt get scammed here.

For me it was a very important transfer and checked google,pockerfives,2+2 before i started to send on stars - if i would found just a sinlge thread about councern i wouldnt have traded with him. I contact others before but they couldt help me with a trade ... unlucky me and then got in contact with barnes...

In the moment iam totally upset about myself to deal with him and it was like i said ealier very important and quickly needed cash ( maybe that made me to not check more or post and wait for reply or whatever).

Hate threads like these, but they are necessary.

Curious how many more people he owes money from Facebook messages. He hit me up on facebook two weeks ago asking for money as well, but I didn't send anything.

I imagine if he messaged both you and I on facebook and we are hardly acquaintances with the guy, think about how many other people he messaged on facebook for money. I'm sure at least a few people on facebook would have sent him some.

my buddy was owed some money last year from some random sports bet, it took brandon longer to pay than it should have but he did. my buddy was getting pretty close to outting him. when i saw this thread i msg'd my buddy and he said brandons recently been hitting him up on fbook asking for a trade.

I think this is relevant now. This hand was posted in the hand history thread and he messaged us to delete it because he said he was drunk and going through some things and was embarrassed. I'm going to wager he didn't want people to know of his recent 'luck'

i understand what vouching for someone is, but if i were to vouch for someone in lets say a PCA staking thread and he ran off with 1.8 mil, youre claiming id be on the hook for what ever percentage they sold?

never going to vouch for anyone ever again... figured it was more of a "i am just letting everyone know that "i" trust this person. known him for a long time type thing."

Obviously if this is a multilevel scam then yeah the person vouching should be responsible
