Here in Virginia the pleading you file in court for a name change has to allege that the person seeking a name change is not seeking the name change for improper purposes, such as to avoid creditors.

If California's is simiar, you could have some fun with her by contesting her name change by claiming to be a creditor she is attempting to hide from.

Also, the pleading should list her current address. If you hire a Nevada attorney to throw together a lawsuit against her, you can use the name change pleading to find her and have a private process server in California serve her.

My best friend is a Vegas attorney (and a poker guy, too). I don't know if he would take the case, but if you are interested in obtaining a judgment against her, PM me and I will give you his name and number.
