If the game gets "solved", does it get solved once and for all or does it only get solved for at the current understanding of the game? Are there more levels beyond solved?

Also, even the best AI could surely only solve based against a relatively fixed or slowly adapting opponents strategy? Does this put creative players at an advantage?

Lastly, the AI surely can't solve the "luck" element of poker, so would we expect to see changes in strategy against AI where risk is reduced for the positions where luck plays a small part and increased on the more risky spots?

It's all very confusing/interesting/scary/fascinating....

Interstingly, just because an AI can beat any human and any other AI does not technically mean the game is solved. At present, 52! is still too big a number of possible deals of cards. BUT such an AI can answer some pesky questions regarding human play. For instance, many starting hands heads up and many decisions on the river are considered “solved” by the AI that have learned heads up Hold’em.

Reluctantly, and perhaps temporarily, I am going to close this thread.

The spate of recent posts on GTO (of a very mixed quality) having little or nothing to do with this AI challenge have continued despite mod warnings that they do not belong in this thread.

I guess this proves how "interesting" the entire GTO discussion is for many poker players. I will start a new thread in NVG (link given below) and move those posts to the new thread. People can continue this conversation in the new thread if they so desire.
