You missed my point. Why don’t you think about why it would be impossible to ever reasonably know if “25%” of gambling addicts commit suicide at some point.

Not to mention that there’s are clear difference between “commit” and “attempt”
We will never have exact numbers. But it’s obvious professional poker player could be called a dangerous profession. A number of pros have died prematurely / committed suicide. I know of one pro who drank himself to death. Others in recent years have “accidentally overdosed”. There have been a couple others I believe who’ve been found dead under suspicious circumstances. Most recently a pro was killed in connection to drugs and or prostitution. There are a couple pros who left high paying jobs for poker and are now broke and destitute. There are a couple on this forum who have basically embraced poverty / lead very alt lives after poker. It’s a dangerous profession.

Heart goes out to the family. I hope he’s found safe and sound.

A long time not to have any sightings, but also a long time not to find a body.

Hopefully he just needed some space to get his life together. He was completely f&cked out of the money he rightfully won on the poker table. One of the dirtiest things ever to have another poker pro playing you who could see your cards.

I suppose at least this shows that poker players are civilized, easy going people, the fact that he can steal millions from them and carry on his life as normal without any consequences. If he stole just 50k from someone in the drugs business he would be dead.

Hope Brad Booth is found ok.

It depends how much resources the Police are putting into this search.

Also it only seemed in the last few days that they provided an actual picture of what he looks like now which is pretty different to the HSP days.

What is the recent photo of Brad Booth the one where he looks like a graying Ashton Kutcher? https://twitter.com/WriterJen/status...958337/photo/1

Hopefully, this is just some crazy messed up prop bet.

The police really don’t do that much with missing people. They get involved when there is an actual crime.

Extremely doubtful that anyone has hurt or kidnapped him.

If he is alive, he has to be aware that people are looking for him.

things that go BUMP in the night.........just helping keep this at the top of the first page of the forum.

hopefully we have good news soon......... after a certain age, i don't think people are as distinctive looking as they were when they were younger. i would think they'll find him by finding his car.

that russ hamilton thing is screwed up.. brad lost more money at same time and later but cheated out of major $$$$ can't be good for your psyche/game ............. i too wonder if someone like RH would have full time security. i'd sure be worried about being shot..

similarly if a really henious serial killer got off on a technicality it seems like the police would have a huge problem. no community would want the person.

Why? It may not happen often, but things do happen.

Bumping this thread is quite alright. I sure hope he gets found ok!

He was great for Canadian poker in the beginning and a lot of people care about him.

well, ADZ was missing for more than a month, there's a chance this guy is still alive.

Well, you aren’t going to kidnap a poker player in debt, are you?

He clearly left with some purpose. He seems like the type of guy who can survive a long-time.

He survived playing high-stakes poker against the best of the best. Lived at the Bellagio 14 straight months. The games he played were insane. Day after day after day.

The only way to beat him was to steal from him. Which unfortunately happened. Millions. They should have been paying him to play there.

Hope he is ok.

What exactly makes him seem this way to you?

I don't want to speculate but sometimes there are unscrupulous people lurking around in forests who get off on murdering people.

It may very well be highly unlikely that is what happened, but that's one of many possible scenarios which would be rather presumptuous to completely rule out.

Nickname. Big guy. Canadian. I think he worked on an oil rig.

I can see him surviving outside for quite a bit of time. Much longer than most poker pros.

There are a lot of news articles on this now.

This is some ****ed up news, Brad's bluff against Ivey made him a poker hero to me when I first started getting into it. Hopefully all is well.

I had a quick google for 'Brad booth'. Only articles I saw were from poker publications.

Definitely not 'a lot of news articles' at all aside from 'The Abbotsford News' article (at least online).
