If a book has infinite money and correct lines there is no risk and it doesn't matter how much money is on each side.

They can't balance the lines when it comes to parlays. Often times people punt small amounts on all underdogs in a get rich quick type bet. Some bookmakers just refuse action if too much gets put down.

My Long shot for tonight's fights.

Cat Zingano* +500 vs Ronda Rousey
Holly Holm* -570 vs Raquel Pennington
Josh Koscheck* +160 vs Jake Ellenberger
Gleison Tibau* +205 vs Tony Ferguson
Mark Munoz* -265 vs Roan Carneiro

Risking $5.31 To Win $403.73

Most likely will lose as I doubt Cat wins but the thought that she was going to win, crossed my mind a couple times.

Yesterday Cat was + 600 ..

I looked at all underdogs and and all favorites parlays at Bovada for tonight's event. On all favorites a $1 bet wins $39.50. On all dogs a $1 bet wins ~360k. There's just no way people will get paid if the all underdog parlay hits. Especially after them advertising their million dollar loss last week. If just $500 gets put in on all dogs and it hits, they owe 180 million dollars, lol.

That's why a responsible site would either refuse action or take insurance in the unlikely case of this happening. The reality is most sites are pretty much free rolling players as they can't possibly pay if they lose without insurance.

Unless I'm misunderstanding how sports books work, are they not just trying to ensure they have similar money on each side of a line, thus ensuring they have little to no risk? If so, the relation of the line to the actual result is in no way an indication of how well the line was set. If the book was successful in its goal, this would instead be an indication that the average sports bettor got it wrong.
Having equal money on each side is the ideal situation for the sportsbook, but that can't be how the line gets set. Sharp bets are much much bigger than square bets, and sharp bets are all going to come in on one side unless the line is very close to the "true" line. Same reason a casino won't give you +101 odds on red even when everyone is betting black.

Nice, had me laughing out loud. Cyborg is about the only one that might be able to beat her ( Ronda ) I also think Cat gets a rematch with one win. Even though she lost in 14 seconds. Ronda has cleaned out the division and there isn't many options. UFC most likely gives Holly Holm the next shot. And from her fight last night. I don't think her Boxing is going to be enough to beat Ronda.

Unless there is some superwoman out there in the marines or something that hasn't yet taken to professional fighting then there is no way Ronda will ever lose.

There is no active fighter who will come close to how dominant her skills are. She could clear a male division in her weight class if it were allowed.

Anyway my 1 bet on Pennington didn't come in.

.
LOL. NO.

Any male fighting in any serious league would wipe her off the mats. It wouldn't even be close. She would get obliterated.

MMA is offered in DFS now. I haven't looked into it at all, I just do NBA currently, but if you guys are really into it I think DraftKings offers it. I'm curious to see if its worth a look

Cyborg is signed with the UFC. .... but on loan to the promotion she is currently fighting, were she has to drop to 135 and win a fight. If she does, her next fight after that will be in the UFC.

It's funny cuz Joe Rogan said something like she'd prolly be able to take half of the batonwieghts or some weigh class like that and seemed pretty confident about it.

This is why I love betting UFC. Best value for underdogs in any sport.

This was another card in Brazil's Ginásio Gigantinho in Porto Allegre. I had bet a card there 6 mths earlier where 6 underdogs had won (and I had a parlay with 5 of them, and ended up making money on the hedge when I bet the last fight to draw at +7500!).

The stadium is huge and it has no air conditioning; could be a factor in this fights. Also, if you ever see a Brazilian guy on a MMA card in Brazil getting odds: take a flyer. It's a good bet as for most of these guys, its like the best night of their professional career (like you or I playing at the FT of the WSOP ME).

If a site can spin a loss and get press out of it, good for them. It is pretty much free Advertising marketed to the average Joe that thinks .. hey that could be me and goes busto placing bets on dogs.

Riding doesn't mean losing. If he has 50 million balanced out it's virtually impossible for him to lose. What makes this situation unique is 11 out of 12 dogs (and a few were +500) won on the same card which hasn't happened in 300 or so events.
