Had a discussion with some pokerfriends on about who the best 3-betters in the world are. We had different opinions.

Who do you guys think is the best?

The problem with the best 3 bettors in the world is they are massive losers to the best 4 bettors in the world.

4 bettors get owned by limpers in my game

Tom Dwan has a very deceptive 3betting range and he is not afraid of firing the flop when he misses. Solid 3bettor IMO

What kind of 3-bettors? Cold or regular? Cash or Tournament? Online or Live?

If you have some balance in your 3b range, then it comes down to frequency and position, eh?

I think the biggest part of actually using 3b as a 'regular' part of your game is knowing which Players will believe you more often so you can get the folds you 'need'. You see it all the time, when an active Player 3b 'all the time' then they are going to get called lighter and lighter as the session goes on.

In tournaments Players use the big stack and ICM considerations to 3b relentlessly to punish short stack opens. There were numerous examples of this in the recent WSOP FTs on PokerGo in the 50K/100K NL and some of the PLO where the big stack changed and the play of each player along with it.

IMO since 3b in live low stake cash games are pretty narrow, you need to look at the tournament players for your list. GL

Doug Polk is very clearly the best 3-better/4-better and folder in the world atm - he's also high on the list for 5-betting but it's a bit more crowded at the top on that list.
