Is it surprising that ipoker has bots and worse?

If you trawl through the ipoker thread from around 2010-2013 you will see we all found cheating players (bots, colluders, strange accounts that appeared altogether then disappeared altogether) - nobody got any money back and we were likely owed hundreds of k collectively. (was msnl/hsnl ring of cheaters). There was a guy who was investigating these players who were blatantly caught cheating (as they all disappeared overnight, and more returned later) but he gave up - I was actually going to help him with the investigation but it fizzled out.

I would steer clear of ipoker and online poker in general in any serious capacity if you're worried about bots/cheaters - you won't see a penny from the companies and they dgaf what you find. ipoker itself was founded by a well known scumbag.

Yes. I'm getting extreme deja vu here as well. It wouldn't surprise me if they are linked in some way to the bots back then.

Was it stated somewhere that any were banned? From the sounds of that email it appears that at least a few of the accounts have been cleared to play into the foreseeable future. That's unfortunate.

Yeah what I got is they got cleared...
It could mean they investigated them, and didn't find anything suspicious so they are ok to play!
Sad...
I'm spotting some real bots at lower stakes as well.
And either I haven't had enough sample on them before or I'm just realizing they are bots.
And the number is high...
Remember chico 25NL @MCA ?
It's something like that in iPoker as well...

You are probably right. The past 4days were the most bot infested (every table 2 of them) + not the best action.

I am thinking to move to stars, at least I will play there probably against humans.

Ya. I mean it was ok back then, games were piss soft and it was absurd how easy hsnl/msnl games were so I didnt hugely mind the very obvious cheaters/bots - wouldve liked to have got some money back tho and it annoys me we basically got robbed. I can imagine BurnN0tice would've played the most hands with them, wonder if he got any $ back - I think he binked some big score so likely dgaf tho.

Would be cool if people who have not played in these games stop posting stuff like "OP u are confusing good regs to bots" etc. I mean it is 100% clear that the nicknames on that list are some type of bots or using the same real time assistance.

Interesting thread and I hope something good comes from it.

I thought it was common knowledge that bots existed on these networks. Yet despite this, there are still people who continue to play there? Why? The best thing you can do is not give the site business. Play in a game that you are reasonably sure is bot-free.

I think this is the way online poker as a whole is heading unfortunately.

Bots will kill the game as finding a bot will be more difficult than the O/P suggests. I'm questioning his thoughts, not that I doubt his information.

I received a £260 refund although support could not tell me any more lol..
I only play NHLE 5/10 HU mainly and PLO 2/4-5/10 if no tables.

This does not show in account details as all other rewards bonus and other do,
PLO table have been dead so I can only guess maybe a few bots rooted out as I did call 2 out in chat but never made official complaint.
