That's way too harsh? Yet 100% agree that whoever put dealers through this shouldn't do that anymore?

I noticed 888 sponsored this event and I think it's appropriate for the person who proposed this idea to be fired. Imagine a dealer being forced to partake in this demeaning stunt out of fear of losing his job. So why shouldn't the organizer be held to the same standard...<SNIPPED>
I hope whoever did this
doesn't get "fired" if there wasn't any malicious intent to make fools out of fellow human beings.
Many who work for poker sites/venues are already having issues performing mass-tasks and taking on responsibilities they're unprepared for -- due to all the layoffs, room closures, corporate mergers, and focus into cross-selling of casino products going on. A person only has 8 arms and 16 legs (and 72 hours in a day) to get things done. Maybe that's what happened here... just too much going on to catch it from a common sense perspective until players brought it up.
But like you say,
all dealers deserve at least a modicum of consideration and human dignity, that should avoid them being put into such a position going forward? It was a 100% unreasonable request to make of casino personnel, but in a way perhaps this brings to light what some in the industry may believe they can obligate people to do.
