Any chance of an inside job? I saw someone else posted this I received chips that looked like the one on the right when I re entered. I thought they were weird and even said to the guy next to me these chips are really shiny and look new or weird he said they did to. Maybe someone paid to have them swapped so they could put real ones in so they were caught putting fake ones in. Didn't think anything of it because the floor gave them to me.

That went through my mind but someone told me there is a million over in chips so that would easily be found. Borgata knows their chips and would know if they had this set some where else. That's why I thought maybe someone was paid and it was swapped out somewhere where there weren't cameras.

as I mentioned earlier in the thread, there were talks of this rumor going around Thursday morning before day 2 even started between a well known pro and one of the higher up floor from B. It is very possible given how many players started day 2 (800), that the cheats are not in the final 27. They have already paid out from places 450-28. How do you expect them to recoup the payouts? Where will the refunded money be coming from?

Chip chop seems awful imho, but I must admit I have no other solution other than play the tournament out

He means that those people will be disqualified and their prize money given to the person below them. This has happened many times in online tournaments.

This. My 5k chips, and the 5k chips I won from other players, did not look like either chip in the photo. They were new and had a sparkly finish to them. I do recognize the duller chips on the left though as older Borgata chips which likely were in use for this tournament. The one on the right just looks fake.

the problem though is what about a player who was busted by a player who had counterfeit chips, and the counterfeit chips are what made the winning player cover the losing one? Im sure there are players who fell victim to this. Even if the player did not have them knowingly, the chips were in circulation and could have been a part of any players stack.

It compromises the ENTIRE tournament. and any player who busted would have a reasonable complaint against the casino...however I do not have a clue on how you could remedy this. The Borgata may haveto eat this and start refunding bullets, just to retain their statue in the poker community..

I played day 1a and my starting stack was all brand spanking new chips. There was some discussion about it at the table. As has been said before chips were sparkly and some came off on your hands. I don't think these are the fake chips though. The ones in the picture look off color. The ones I had appeared to be the same shade as the regular 5k's with no wear on them.

maybe im crazy....but in my opinion a chip chop couldnt make any less sense...it solves 0 issues......if people still in it cheated...then they still get paid....if nobody still in it was involved then they get cheated out of a once in a lifetime opportunity....the people most affected to this point.......are people no longer in the tournament....and that does nothing for those people.....what if you were one of the last bustouts yesterday....how unfair is it that if u made it another few minutes you would be seeing an infinitely higher payout?

id love to hear one explanation for a chip chop assuming nothing is done beyond that?
its just a ludicrous solution
