Borgata "Fake Chips" Thread Sets A New 2+2 Record?

I have no idea what the actual record is, but I have a feeling this thread has set the record for most "Strangers" (with 6 or fewer posts) posting to a thread.

I do think it's kind of messed up Tab is just casually tweeting when one of the biggest poker scandals has taken place in his "house". He hasn't even offered a half-ass apology

That's the one thing that keeps drawing me to this story like a moth to a flame - waiting for the New Jersey police to make an arrest. When/if they do make an arrest, I hope it's not a "respected" member of the poker community that we had all looked up to - that would be devastating ...

I do agree with this. If they aren't giving any further statements, it's a bad PR move to be tweeting about football.

I also think they should be giving more updates, even if the updates are, "We have nothing new to report yet, the investigation is ongoing and we will provide any available additional info in 24 hours." At least that tells us that they know we're all still waiting for info.

I don't know if it's the lighting but I don't see the new sparkly 5K chips so I'm guessing: (a)the fakes were either made to mimic the old 5Ks and strangely you didn't accumulate any official sparkly new ones, (b)the sparkly chips were the ones counterfeited and they pulled/replaced them all from remaining stacks at some point and continued play?

This picture shows 2 different types of 5Kchips but there were 3 my friend. Sparkly new grey ones that were official(which could be the one on the right) Old dull charcoal grey official 5Kchips(like the rest shown), and then the counterfeits. Did any of the chips in your picture feel different?

Most states casino laws have stiff sentencing guideline with jail time for cheating a casino .

Did the scumbags actually cheat the casino ? If I was their lawyer I would make an argument that they cheated the players , then what is the criminal statute?

If it's just general fraud , then what is the fraud amount $565 , $2m, worlds first ICM based court case? The $ amount of the fraud would dictate penalty , $565 fraud might just be misdemeanor where $2M fraud and someone's goin to jail

Unless they find who brought the chips into the tourney there will be no consequences. The other people who were the final 27 that hand no involvement in the chip stealing are getting screwed. I hope the individuals who cheated get severely punished, but we all know that won't happen...

If you can tweet about rooting for a football team it means you're not taking this very seriously .. The first thing he should have done is tweeted an apology or a statement.. Tweeting What team he's rooting for right now is ridiculous ..

In Nevada it is a felony to introduce a counterfeit chip into a game and there is no distinction between a NCV and a value chip.

I doubt that NJ is much different that NV and the requirement for a card tables video surveillance include:

You must have camera coverage for the following:
enough to identify the players and dealers.
identify the cards in play
identify the amount of chips on the table

The chips must be of colors that allow you to determine the value of the chip on a black and white monitor from the video.

It will take time to look through all the film, but I have no doubt they will be able to tell whose chip stack grew and it won't matter if it happened at the table or during a move.

Thank you! It's such a joke.. This could cost alot of people alot of money and some a little money, I would take it alot more seriously.. Especially if I want people to come back.

Not only that, but this scandal calls into question all the past and future poker tournaments at that venue. If I ran Borgata, I would make a big deal of all the changes the tournament staff would be making and all the new precautions it will be taking to ensure fair tournaments from now on.
