This was my photo posted on my twitter @7thecho When I asked the dealer, he wrote it off like nothing was going on. Tab has always ran pretty good tourney series. Cheaters need punished and not forgiven so easy when we already succumb to such taboos as this game brings us.

I remember a few times I had to was my hands cause my finger tips were pretty dirty from shuffling. I assumed it was from the table being dirty but thinking back it seemed like it was slightly metallic looking. Would make sense if the chips were painted.

Anyone else who played notice this?

Guy at my table is in the chip industry. He said no major venue should use sticker chips. Too easy to counterfeit.

Can buy the base chip and make your own sticker quite easily according to him.

I am sympathetic to all those that got busted out by cheating of any kind.

The cause and effect can not be duplicated. NJDGE and the Borgata are facing an unique situation. And 4812 unhappy campers.

In any one's experience has a similar circumstance happened in B&M tournament poker? Never at this high number of participants with as much cash in play?

really sad to hear this, as someone who got eliminated in the money the idea of going back in this tourney is redic. I got full faith that borgata is gonna do the right thing here and the end result will be fine...and i also think its highly likely the catch the involved parties. Which also makes me happy...gl all how's still in.

When were the 5K chips added in the tournament? At the beginning? If so, these chips could have been added in the earlier part of the tournament and the cheaters could possibly have already busted the tournament. Not sure how this can be rectified, especially for the 27 players who are left, can you imagine how the chip leader is going to feel if the tournament is somehow cancelled. Not sure I would want to be making that decision.

Time for an end to "slap on the wrist" punishments and 2nd chances for cheaters in the Poker World.

I hear Mike Sexton advocating dress codes at Final Tables, so that we may be taken more seriously by corporate sponsors.......We need to 1st police ourselves better, and not be so tolerant of scumbags and cheaters in this industry......otherwise, it's all for not.

Easiest solution would be to play down to the final table and just scrutinize the hell out of those players. Cancelling the tournament would be by far the worst decision. That would completely screw the legit players.

I agree - it is a HUGE leap. However, there is a second player (still in the tourney) from NC that was busted for illegally running games as well. And to stir the pot some more (as I enjoy doing)... she is Vietnamese - Men the Master connection? Hmmmm...

If this happened early in the tourney shouldn't they have found the chip discrepancy before day2 started and players made the money. That would have made it easier to cancel the tourney as they are way too far in now with only 27 players left and having already paid all the other ppl from 27-500. Gonna be a disaster either way, hope they find out what happened and able to let the final 27 play it out.

All things considered, would it be unreasonable to suggest a 27way chop of remaining monies and chalk it up?

Keep investigating and split winnings of anyone found involved within that final 27 among remaining 27?

Idk, this is a mess.

I think a chop is the best way considering all things. I know it would be unfair for many but hell this is really ****ed up.

As I was at the desk at the start of day 2 (before it began) I heard a known player speaking with a Borgata staff member about a rumor he heard of people bringing chips into the tournament. The player appeared to be trying to help and just letting them know what he was hearing. FWIW the floor seemed to be concerned and did not blow off the tip, which very well could have led to the investigation or at least the curiosity.

If this is true, then it appears as though the chips were entered into play either one day 1, or before day 2 started.

I am choosing to leave out the names of the people involved for obvious reasons.
