Can you elaborate on you handling the fake chips? Out of curiosity, how many did u have? Did u alert the floor? Which day did you see them? How did you know they were fake?

I just went to look at this event center, i didnt see any cameras. Not sure they are going to find out the specific source of this unless. Imo, I played in this, I didnt really care about a refund until I read some players were given this chips as initial entry or re-entry. That means there was a swap with original chips before the event started and someone had those original chips to add-on. Mbn to freeroll an add-on.

The whole thing, plus the inept dealers, awful registering, etc should make Borgata feel embarrassed at best. As other have said, I had to play dealer numerous times cutting chips or making sure main vs side pots were correct. I really felt bad as dealer after dealer told me yesterday it was their second day on the job. Many couldnt speak English well, and they looked extremely exhausted.

borgata is 1 of the most overrated poker rooms / casinos. Yes, they have real good tournaments but as far as customer service goes a lot of the people that work at borgata act like they are doing you , the customer, a favor for ''allowing'' you to gamble there, its been like that from the beginning because when they opened every other place in AC was and still is a **** hole so they act like you owe them something. ofcourse it is not all of the people that work there but a lot of the people that work there. Also so many people have been cheated with their hotel and room bills , with deposits and charges etc etc...

Quick calculation seems to suggest that $1 million chips is worth around $20,000 to $25,000 in equity. I'm assuming the 200 or so extra chips had to be split among numerous people in order to pull it off without being caught on the spot. Obviously, this equity is very hard to realize given the variance in tournaments. Seems like kind of a silly risk to take given the risk/reward.

as opposed to what other alternative? What are you doing with the final 27? And if somebody has unbreakable plans?

You think $20,000 is not a lot to some people? If you walk around certain parts of Atlantic City flashing cash, you can easily get killed for 1/10th of that amount.

Trying not to let the "reputation" influence anything, just a fact about playing with Men on day 2.

He opens his bag to start the day and kept very dirty stacks for the duration I was at the table. No one really does that. I was on a short stack and didn't last long into day 2, but he wasn't doing the standard separate by chip denominations. Maybe I wasn't there long enough?

Not sure if different color grays would be distinguishable within a similar stack from the sides or if the dirty stacks would draw more attention.

Heard they knew about this from end of day 1 or beginning of day 2.... From an employee. Also they told me from pic the chips on left were fake not the silver chip on the right. Just thought id pass it a long to the 4000 other players reading this.

It is, just very difficult to realize and I'm assuming that were probably at least 5 people involved. So it's $4,000 each and if it's a player who earns income from this, they risk ruining their career, etc.

i'm one of the final 27. my instinct is that this will be played tomorrow and the borgata already has a lot of info on the guilty party. lots of rumors flying around so i am not going to say i know the truth but i have heard that they somehow have found counterfeit chips in a harrah's hotel room and know who brought them. i dunno, maybe total nonsense. if in fact the guilty party is "The Master" as everyone suspects then they might already have him nailed but are just trying to find out if one of the remaining 27 was an accomplice (which i have also heard is plausible) before finishing the event. obviously i want to play tomorrow. it seems to not complete this would be a disaster for the borgata

i agree with everyone btw who says we shouldn't point fingers but...the man's name is already out there. i'm still hoping it was a color up issue but seems unlikely

Feel awful for this guy and rest of the 27...unless they're involved. Then they need to be driven to Vector and let the good ole boys do work

If your in the tournament the final 27 shouldn't you know it's not color up and that it's counterfeit chips? So how is it a color up issue? You should be on top of this I feel.
