Act like you've won a hand before.
Get on the big stage playing for a decent amount of money and you'll understand.

Wasn't there some foreign (eastern european..?) baskeball player who actually broke his neck headbutting something in celebration of a basket?

as a professional in would think boosted j would have a little more respect for the game and the player that lost the hand and not be jumping for joy rejoicing. It always tilts me to see people celebrating and to me its extremely disrespectful. Either way i hope he didnt tear his acl and is able to concentrate and take it down.

Does anyone remember a story about a high school bball player who was paralyzed after he got mobbed after a winning dunk? That would be the unfunny side of excessive celebration.

not really, ive played plenty of big buyin tournaments and i understand the suspense and exitement but a huge part of poker is self control and boosted J along with like 95% of poker players dont have enough to restrain themselves from rubbing in their victory in the villains face.

nvg is so funny, i play for millions of dollars in bobby's room on a routine basis. At the most, I have grinned after winning a pot, ones just as big as most of the tournament chip(cash value worth) pots that were being played in this tournament. Being on the WPT set is entirely different, and IMO completely acceptable to celebrate as long as you don't do anything directly to your opponents, etc...it was one of the most exciting experiences in my life and it wasn't just about the money, it was about being with friends and family and trying to win the damn thing while they root you on. NVG has said I'm very unemotional and boring, yet then when i express my emotions and celebrate I get criticized by some, lol(not that I do anything at all to appease NVG's opinion of me, but that's just the way it has gone down). That's my last post on the subject, some people may understand, some people may not, it's cool either way.

Don't know Justin, but i've got mixed hilarious/sad feelings about this story.

Hilarious in a Bill Grammatica hurting his knee sort of way.

Sad because it's clearly the result of previous accidents.

Having been on the set of many of these shows I understand completely what Justin is saying. You were not nearly as animated until Matusow and TT joined your posse however and the table was in dire need of some emotion during the first 4 hours anyway.

It was just a bad beat for you that this happened and will become legend in poker like Gramatica and Frerotte in football. Try and capitalize on your misfortune with Ace Bandage, Ben Gay, or an online avatar.

this was actually my first post in nvg, i felt the need to post because imo its disrespectful to celebrate the outcome of vairance. Obv your good and play for tons of money so i felt like you have less of an excuse then some1 who luckboxed a tournament on vacation. Set an example.

Wait someone celebrated after winning a big hand in a big tourny? Holy **** the the horror!

God, you people are taking this way to serious. Everyone needs to lighten up, it's funny how people are complaining about this when 99% of you have never been in the position BJ was in at that time. So the guy got excitied and celebrated big ****ing deal..yeah it sucks that you had to injure yourself in the process but **** happens.

Some people just love to hate. Don't let it get to you. Congrats on the big cash. Wish you could have finished first post-injury, that would have been awesome.

Enjoy all the post-surgery drugs that are far and away the best (and only good) part of tearing an ACL.

it's called karma. when you suck out on someone for a big pot you don't need to jump around like a fool. ...jump around...jump up jump up and get down..

Players at the WPT final table are encouraged to celebrate as long as its sportsmanlike, Justin's celebration was perfect for TV, its exactly what the WPT wants - a player running into the arms of his friends and family without being disrespectful against his opponents. That type of celebration after a huge rivered upset looks great on TV, anyone who doesnt see that just doesnt get it. As a player I can't stand celebrating when I win a normal every-day hand, but respectful celebration is totally understandable at a major televised final table as long as its not being disrespectful to your opponents, I can assure you that Justin's celebration was 100% respectful.

Justin is the youngest regular in Bobby's Room, of the people at the final table he is the only one who wouldn't have a life changing moment if he won the 1.2 million first place prize, I hope that keeps things in perspective. Justin's celebration was because he was genuinely excited, its as real as real can get.

Boosted is kind of unemotional when he plays poker, thats actually one of the things I really like about him, he is all business at the table. Last nights celebration was out of character for him in a cash game where pots can easily be bigger than the 1st prize was offering but totally in character considering the fact that its a WPT final table where this is encouraged. When you all see the episode on TV I am fairly sure that Justin is going to come out looking like a shining example, if I was in his position I dont know if I could continue playing, he was in a lot of pain!

Mike was hysterical, he was supporting Eric Sidel, Alec Torelli (whos friends and family were sitting next to us, we all wanted Alec and Justin to be the final two, Alec is a great guy!) and Justin yet he told everyone that Justin was his main priority. Anytime things got quiet Mike would yell out "I want to see blood, I don't care whose blood, just bring me the blood", that really helped because for a long time the crowd was very quiet, it changed the atmosphere into the party like set which I am used to for WPT final tables, much better! He taunted in a very friendly way Alex Gomez's friends who probably didn't know what Mike was saying, they spoke Portuguese but it was obvious to all that it was all in good fun.

off topic - Mike says he wants to start posting on 2+2, its going to get very interesting if he does. Apparently he already has an account but hasn't used it in a while, good times ahead, and great gossip ;-)
