RIP.

there was a great podcast interview with him a few years ago, cool to see someone who had been around for so long still beating high stakes.

Yes this podcast was Bart Hanson's Deuce Plays, I have listened to that episode at least four or five times. Bobby had a great gift of gab and seemed like an awesome guy with a rich history. Was also very cool to see that someone who had been playing since the 60s was still recognized as one of the best no limit cash game players in the world.

Re: Bobby Hoff has died.

I wish I had met Mr. Hoss. He sounds like a hell of a person. I admire his ability to both play poker at the level he did and especially to adjust to the incredible changes in the game that took place when he was at a relatively advanced age. Many others of his 'poker generation' got left in the dust. A sad day. RIP.

Real nice guy. I played against him a few times 15 or so years ago and he was a first rate player and guy.

Such a shame Hal Fowler ran like God against him heads-up.

He was the man. Pretty sure I just saw him like a month ago at cc and he seemed in pretty decent health. Sad. Legend.

Re: Bobby Hoff has died.

Poker history. It is so sad that another player active in 70's passed away. I was sure that he will be inducted to the Poker HoF this year before he died - now it's set i think.

Sad news. This guy really deserves a place in the Poker HoF. I'm sorry it didn't happen in his lifetime.

Re: Bobby Hoff has died.

ive played with bobby in five different decades. and have many hours at the table with him. he was always the most feared player to be in a big pot with. and poker will never be the same without probably the best or close to it no limit player that lasted so long in the game.
