It's just how the government works. They'll do it when they feel like doing it, and there's nothing else anyone can really say.

And how do you guys expect them to work with any urgency if we're not calling, if they get a 1000 calls a day for a few days all requesting info and update on the full tilt case, I don't see how they can ignore that. I say we bomb the phone lines collectively and let them understand how important it is to us as a community that we get an update. Cause obviously the PPA is just not cutting it or the government just gives them no respect

Yes, because bombarding the shlep who makes $8 an hour answering phones for them will certainly be instrumental in expediting the process. I wish you would have posted with 8 months ago so we all could have been paid already.

Re: The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?

Below taken from pokerscout.com. It is for the bitcoin site ******************. The thing about it is, anyone can play and I wonder if it is not legal because it is bitcoin like zynga dollars. The reason I post here is maybe they are delaying to get some of the States poker bills passed. The whole reason for the delay was to put massive bad taste in using any poker other than one taxed by the U.S. government or their buddies the states.

The DOJ isn't stalling and there isn't some conspiracy, it's just a glacial bureaucracy. I think for some this is an eye opener into the slow machinations of government. "When we're ready" hasn't been lost.

the bitcoin poker site steelhouse posted about is Seals With Clubs, the fastest paying poker site in the world. my cashouts usually took 1 hour.

the URL is censored because Mason dislikes one of the site's promoters.

Same idiot from the USAO press office @ 212-637-2600. Here's about how it went.

Me: Hi I'd like to speak to someone involved with the hiring process of the claims administrator for the Pokerstars settlement.

Idiot: Unfortunately I can't transfer you to anyone internally regarding the settlement.

Me: Could you comment on why the rest of world has been made whole and why the US is left in a 6 month holding pattern with no administrator?

Idiot: What I can tell you is that we expect an update soon and our website to reflect the information. I know this is not the answer you are hoping for but...

Me: Is there any reason why this is taking so long? Is there a case that is holding up the administrator hiring process? Is it money?

Idiot: I unfortunately can't comment on any of our internal procedures.

Me: :short sigh: Well, thank you for your help, have a good one.

Idiot: Thank you, bye.
What part of this conversation with them providing standard information makes them an idiot?

Not really an Idiot. Just a guy who either doesn't know anything or doesn't give a **** about your call or most likely both. I understand why you are trying to get some info , but it is likely you are nose up to a brick wall here. And yes it sucks!

Re: The Big Question For Full Tilt's U.S. Players: Will They Get Their Poker Winnings Back?

I called the USAO press office (212-637-2600) and decided to try some questions that, worded correctly, might be a bit more answerable.

I pretty much said we've heard "soon" a lot, and if she could elaborate if soon is more 1 week or 1 month. Obviously, she said she couldn't give a specific time frame but mentioned that we should be "extremely tuned in" for the next update from the DoJ (and to interpret that as I would).

So, in conclusion, who knows.

I'm still holding out hope that the reason its taking so long to get information is because they are waiting until they have every last detail on what we need to do in the remission process. I'm probably being overly optimistic though.

I think Lederer's "when we're ready" is still tops, though.
