This was done by FTP during their down time.
They said ironman medals were converted to FT points, but that never happened, as my FT points remained the same. Did iron man medals disappear or get converted to cash?

math is hard

US player balances $150m (estimated)

Time DOJ has had player money: Less than 3 months

Interest on US player balances (gonna go with 3 months for simplicity): 375,000

The thing that REALLY matters is Time It Takes - Time You Think It Would Take if DOJ earned 0% interest. Which you can't calculate and at this point could be no greater than 3 months (and you know that's not right b/c it takes a non-zero time to set up the remission process).

P.S. They had investments of over $6 BILLION at the end of Sept 2011. They made $4.6 MILLION of interest from Oct 2010-Sept 2011. They only invest in Treasury bills i.e. they don't earn 1%.

Basically, anybody that says the gov't is stalling for interest is a clown.

Skall, whats the plan for the PPA when they meet with the DOJ? What kind of questions are going to be asked? What is the PPA trying to accomplish with this meeting? What kinds of things are the PPA trying to get across to the DOJ? What will be considered a win/lose for the PPA/players when you meet with the DOJ?

I was incorrect when I said the PPA is useless. That is my fault and I apologize.

I doubt you will see a "We demand answers!" kind of thing. It will be more along the line of, "How can we help you and the players here, and make everyone happy."

Im not saying the PPA demand anything. Im just curious what the purpose of the meeting is for from the point of view from the PPA.

Has there been an exact date for the meeting w/ the DoJ?

i know this is question is a setup for trolls, but...

....any estimates in what quarter of what year we could/should expect payments? is Q4 of '12 still possible?

Q1 '13?

Q2? :/

No estimates yet, based on the fact that we have close to 0 information. Any estimation would be nearly 100% speculation.

yes I know everything would be speculation. It just seems to me that the remission process wont be in plenty of time before Christmas, or thanksgiving, like Eolis implied. (not a direct quote, but it was something along those lines.)

EDIT: "At this point I am ready to go out on a limb; FTP customers will see their monies well in time for Christmas shopping." - Eolis

ya what a huge disappointment.

Who the hell is Eolis? I think we're a pretty big dog to see any money by the new year.

Yes math is hard.

~1 year for payouts w/ 225m paid to the DOJ = over 2m. 1 year is a very reasonable assumption for remission payouts considering past history (and probably a little aggressive).

Also, they aren't stalling, they are getting things right and the time it takes the govt to do that is a very long time. What they CAN and SHOULD get better at is communicating progress when they hold 9 figures of money belonging to others.

I certainly don't speak for John, and I haven't talked to him in person for years, but my guess is the PPA's strategy is to be representing the players, who want to come "out of the shadows". and want regulation and taxation. We want it to be fair and legal. So, meeting with the DOJ, I would guess the idea is that they represent what the players want, and it's important that the players are treated fairly going forward.

I would also guess that the tribal position is against legal poker online. There are people fighting for the B+M casinos, and most want poker players to have less choice.

The DOJ doesn''t have $225m of player funds. Cash paid to DOJ =/= US player balances. The DOJ has $150 million of player funds.

Now, I'm thoroughly confused. Earlier you post saying it's ridiculous the gov't gets to make 2+m in interest from this money (which I just proved they're not making anywhere near that). Now, you say you don't care about the money, just want communication b/c you realize these things take time.

I also agree that the interest is immaterial.

Does anybody know what ftp points were worth pre black friday?

What I'm losing out on is my balance could buy me another rental home that brings in 1k/month. So far that's cost me what 20k?
11-03-2012 , 12:55 AM
after installing new update, are u.s. players seeing real money funds in cashier?

damn! teach me where to net profit $1k/month from a rental home

I was lucky to be one of the few in my area to not lose electricity due to Sandy. I did however lose my internet. I just paid too much to get temporary service since mine will be out for a while yet. I am glad to see all is settled with the remissions process.

To those of you who have trouble comprehending DTM's posts may I suggest you throw away your televisions. I can vouch for the fact that you will not be thrown out of the US for doing so. I guess nowadays one would have to include using one's puter to view the same content.

merge being awful makes fast remission for ftp money all the more important to me. I'd be fine without ftp as long as merge stays afloat and doesn't drain up completely but it seems like this wouldn't happen. I really loved being able to log into FTP and see that I have enough points that'd give me like 5 months of life expenses but I can't touch it ever, lol.

It can both be ridiculous that they get 2+mm (over the 1% interest example thrown out ITT) and not give us updates. I honestly don't believe they are stalling, however, they can be more transparent. Make sense?

Also, the first payment was for 225m, not 150m. http://www.scribd.com/doc/102463325/...lement-Payment

Did your "inside source" tell you this?

Or are you simply regurgitating what we already know / have been told?

If #1, then why don't you ask him much more pressing questions like where are we in the remission process?

If #2, you are posting here under the guise of someone who has access to top notch information, but really you are just re-hashing what we already have available. In other words, you are a fraud, you continue to be a fraud, and I can't understand how you don't get a chinamaniac style ban from this thread.
