At what point do you think his hand is in the muck? The "muck" is the pile of folded cards (and the rest of the deck if the river is out), not an imaginary place on the table in front of the player.

Nothing like trying to incorrectly angle shoot a muck in order to win a pot.

When he pushes his cards forward towards the dealer, face down, pass the line and releases them?

Without the banter, pretty clear fold to me.

As a German, this has always been a painful one to watch

The best about a slow-roll is not the slow-roll itself, but the aftermath of the slow-roll. This is pretty poor really in my opinion, if the guy with the 88 has played poker for more than a couple of years he'll have had at least a 10-20% idea that he was getting slow-rolled here.

The Germany one is genius because no-one has a clue it could even possibly remotely be a slow-roll and they all go berserk angry after the hand...

The Jack Ury one is genius because the table goes wild about it, the other guy in the hand is obviously livid but he's completely lost as to what he can do, going off at an old man on TV isn't really great form

When he gave his second card to the other players and said "you show it" one of them should have just tossed it into the muck.

I'd pay to have seen that happen.

Also why are they playing what appears to be 5/10? Can these guys on stream not afford higher?

You can't fold your hand at showdown. The only two options are to table your hand or to muck it.

Most casinos don't have stupid rules like a "magic muck" or a line the cards can't cross even without facing action. There, the hand is live as long it is clearly retrievable/identifiable.

However.

This was the perfect storm. A beautiful piece of work.

It was funny for sure but poorly executed. Little bit cringy but somewhat funny.

commentator: he literally tells his exact cards while in the hand, UNBELIEVABLE!

he might be astonished if he sat down in any 1/2 casino game, where every single fish does it every time they talk about their hand

That would have been hilarious, if that guy then said, "What ? I thought you said to "toss it".

Might have been the epitome of speech counterplay, getting to muck an obnoxious guy's hand because of his "speech play". Way funnier than 'check your privilege"

I remember Hellmuth slowrolling an amateur on The Big Game, the slowroll itself wasn't funny but more so that the amateur won 3 out of 4 runs with like 15% equity IIRC.

I find it strange how the community has done a 180 on Slowrolling, it used to be the lowest form of etiquette to slowroll someone, Nowadays its a "for TV / youtube clicks" norm.

I have been on the losing end of a 7+minute slowroll in live poker for a 500+bb pot, it wasn't exactly fun. Although I didn't sell it at the table.

It's still a scummy thing to do and I think you can be kicked out of some poker rooms for slowrolling. It's just funny to see it happen to other people.
