I was told gabapentin was similar to pregabalin and though pregabalin did reduce my anxiety, gabapentin made no noticeable difference for me.

And I don't necessarily 'need' to take drugs but I play full time and drugs help with consistency. Also I really do have adhd and fwiw I don't even like taking my ritalin, I only take it for poker

yea this definitely helped with my anxiety but it got out of hand after I began to smoke while grinding so I quit but in terms of anxiety reduction I give it +1

I have took Pregabalin too and it knocked me out my socks I literally couldn't speak and was stumbling about and almost choked on my food but it is great for pain. Maybe I have a stronger reaction to these drugs than the average person because I was on 300mg a day of Pregab and take 600mg a day of Gabapentin which ain't much and I still don't like the side effects.

Yea If you have a prescription for your drugs I think that's fine I'm not familiar with ADHD but can imagine staying focused must be a little hard with your inability to concentrate. What does it feel like to take these Ritalin/adderall drugs?

yea pregabalin can do that to you.

And actually having pretty bad adhd, when I take my ritalin (methylphenidate) as prescribed its not a huge difference but it does make me noticeably more productive, but a bit not like myself.

In excess it makes me focus on particular tasks for extra long periods of time (pretty much as long as I want given I keep redosing) along with giving me a false sense of creativity, and also some initial mild euphoria.

These effects are similar to what I hear described by most people who take ritalin or adderal (which is actually an amphetamine).

The negatives while on it is that I completely lose my appetite as well as it gives me this anxious 'racy' feeling that makes me a bit jumpy. During the comedown its harder to sleep, possibly accompanied by headaches and you might feel burnt out the next day. I no longer smoke but when I used to I'd constantly be wanting to smoke as well.

Ive tried a lot of stuff and gave up on them. a few things that are no brainers

sleep
b12
a ton of fish oil (i never noticed anything until i took a lot)
Vitamin D if you live north is a must in the winter

Then anything that increases blood flow (oxygen to the brain) without messing with your neurotransmitters is guaranteed to help without hurting or building tolerance:

- vinpocetine
- gingko
- niacin
- citrulline / arginine

Then there are a bunch of nootropics like racetams that will alter your neurotransmitter function. be warned they will change your personality, possibly for the worse, and they will change how you play so that you may play worse. I never touch them anymore. noopept, aniracetam, piracetam, etc etc

Then there are the ones that are rx strength like modafinil, ritalin (just got some lol mexico), amphetamines (no idea). these are about as good as you will get for focus. its apparently a good idea to take memantine if you take adderal / ritalin.

After that there are a bunch of things that can improve mood sustainably and give neurotransmitter support. I suspect a lot of antidepressants are effective because they improve nerotransmitter function and they make someone more content by making them more effective. Tianeptine can be bought and is non presciption in US/Canada.

Microdosing you can google it appears that is effective on mood / creativity but not as effective on focus as the rx drugs.

and for sleep / other benefits
- uridine will make you sleep so deep its hard to wake up, gives some focus, and improves sleep quality. i only use occasionally
- glycine will help you get to sleep fast...is a brain stimulant and a central nervous system depressant so you feel relaxed and alert but for me I think it cycles my thoughts. I never use it and stay away from anything that enhances nmda receptor function (all racetams, noopept) due to cycling thoughts and random thoughts. but glycine is harmless doubt most would notice that

so dont play under the influence of anything because it hurts your game but if you need to, play under the influence of something, because it will help.

caffiene is kinda **** on its own. it speeds up thoughts without making any more sense. so usually energy drinks have taurine or green tea / theanine to slow down nmda receptors.

beta alinine increases oxygen similar to niacin. I doubt it makes any difference drinking it once...but for a distance runner its supposed to help when loaded up. will lower blood pressure

tyrosine turns into dopamine...it will give energy but is not sustainable.

arginine and citrulline are for blood flow also. they dont mess with neurotranmitters. safe to take everyday and will lower blood pressure.

l-glutamine helps with muscle recovery / soreness (a lot)...not sure it has any real benefits for energy or focus but its cheap enough to throw in at those does.

so yes that mix will improve your day I think the tyrosine is the only bad thing in there for me....but youd have to take it for a long time before the nasty head of tyrosine pops up

Meditation will help with both of those. Keep on going back to your little for profit doctor tho that make money off of you downing them pills.

pregbalin and gabapentin are likely terrible....as is anything that messes with gaba (phenibut, alcohol). they slow down mental function just like a benzo and are a ***** to come off, just like benzo, but worse. picamilon might be a good option it is ok for anxiety and gives some energy from niacin increasing brain bloodflow. it works though i dont use it anymore.

if anxiety is really a problem here is my list:
- memantine - probably by all reports. havent tried.
- tianeptine - it is prescribed for that in other countries, helps mental function
- picamilon- helps mental function, helps anxiety
- noopept - decreases anxiety but changes personality in my opinion
- inositol - works for anxiety doesnt help mental function imo.
