Can/have you chipped it?
What are your torq/hp numbers?
BMW has really lost the plot with new 6 and X6 series imo. They have been trimming them out since the original designs but they are still bloated and awkward.
Sorry man late reply......Cocaine's a helluva drug!!
Yes it did have an open diff, but I've had the LSD (Limited Slip Diff) off an M3 fitted.
I have also had the engine remapped I'll give you some stats below for mine, then compare the torque in all M3 models, my torque is really stupid now and borderline scary lol, but it had more torque than an M3 even before i had the remap done....Man that BMW 24v Turbo is sik.....Can only imagine what the new 335d is like with a remap......
Mine before remap (late '05 330cd):
BHP - 204
Torque - 409 N-m
Mine after remap (tested on rolling road):
BHP - 252
Torque - 498 N-m
Now I'll put down ALL the M3 models but only their respective torque stats, as it's not worth mentioning BHP as even the lowest M3 (US version) is nearly 100bhp higher than mine with remap and the top GTR version pushes out 500bhp, lol sik...
M3 (US) 355 N-m
M3 (EURO) 365 N-m
M3 CSL 370 N-m
M3 GTR (Street) 444 N-m
M3 GTR (Race) 501 N-m
Trust me the torque is sik, and truly an enjoyable experience, tbh it's turned me into a torque fiend rather than power now, and I've also come round to the power on tap that the new diesel engines produce.
However, I will be having an M at some point though, no doubt about it, as, although I can hold my own with one (M3) for a good while, the extra engineering that is in that car just takes over, as it should of course.
Also the X6 is one ugly mofo...
