I just read a bunch of the stuff about the Biker Bandit. Just insane! The dude should have just taken the $400000 in small denom chips and he'd have been a free man. Just crazy how he was posting here looking to sell them! Lol

Maybe they would make an exception because of this, but I've had a few randomly in my pocket and had to walk my ass back to the poker room.
Heck, even if you're cashing in $100s or $1000s, they still freak out if you don't cash them in the Poker room. I got reprimanded by the outside cage for doing that.

My guess is the poker cage will be redesigned with bars. It's way too wide open with lots of cash and chips at arms length

My guess is since this only happens every couple of years and the casinos only take a small hit, they won't make themselves look like a ****ty bodega.

I just reread your idiotic post. How long have casinos had spaces "with wide open and lots of cash at arms length"?

Nothing is changing, the same degens and casuals will be there tomorrow, unless casinos go full New Orleans liquor store set up.

C'mon now, everyone knows the best way to make business decisions is in immediate response to single incidents.

Hate to say it but I'm going to, that guy looks like a poker player.

So does the kid down my street who drives a WRX, though.

So does that mean armed security guards in casinos are deterrents, not crime fighters?

Of course, letting him go and possibly charge him later is much better for Bellagio than have a full shot out inside of the casino

That wouldn't have stopped this as the clerk handed him the cash. Granted in 2000 Bellagio did install bars as someone did jump over and steal 160k in cash from the main cage.

If reports are true, the robbery cost them 5-figures and they are probably insured anyway.

If the robber shoots a customer, we might be talking about a 7-figure problem. If a security guard shoots a customer, they have an 8-figure disaster.

The most important lecture for security guards is to not use their weapon in a crowded space unless the other party is about to use theirs.

"Small robbery at Bellagio" is mostly local news, "multiple dead in shooting at Las Vegas casino" makes headlines worldwide, especially after the recent unfortunate event.

Bulletproof glass.

Bars are too easy to shoot through.

If he struggled to get money from the cage he'd go to a table to get chips like the biker Bandit did.

Incredibly disappointing that no Muribrah's have yet demanded to know why every player in the room didn't whip out their pistol from it's holster mid barrel roll and shoot this guy on sight.

he was known the next day when his broke ass was playing table games for tens of thousands of dollars and a poker dealer reported it.

Now if he would have continued to play poker at similar stakes buying in chips and cashing out cash, it might have been interesting.

Yeh - 100% correct, all Bellagio cares about is getting all traces that this happened out of view of customers ASAP. Stand-off at gunpoint, even with no shots fired could cause all kinds of problems, and once a shot gets fired even if into the roof and no-where near anyone they probably have to evacuate or close the casino for a few hours and the immediate costs of that + PR damage will be such that the Bellagio will wish they'd just given him $100k if he put his gun away and left without causing a scene.

And like the post above says....if someone gets shot, jeez - and if someone gets killed! Wow they'll be lucky to get away with this for less than $100m worth of problems.

Especially since James Woods was there. He claimed in a recent tweet that he sleeps with a gun next to his bed in case any crazy liberals go on a shooting spree.
