the answer is def not RFID chips, we're headed down a slippery slope if we go that direction. seriously, how ****ing hard is it to enforce the dealer putting his palms up after handling the pot?

Also, how does a guy get away with stealing these chips? Can anyone walk us through the mechanical process of what he was likely doing? It seems really hard to get away with this if anyone is paying any attention.

A guy got caught at the casino I play at (Cascades in Langley, BC) about a year and a half ago. They found stacks and stacks in both his locker and his car. Dude had only worked at the casino for a few months and had gotten away with a lot. Smart enough to get the chips (all 5s and 25s btw) off the table but not smart enough to hide them well at all...

At what point does the dealer make the stolen chips his own? Dont they wear pocketless pants and shirts precisely to impede ,,pocketing chips"? My guess is he´d keep them apart in the chiptray, but then others would have to be involved to clear the chiptray of the bootie.

I think what is being done is essentially a coin palming slight of hand trick, where they grip the chip in between the pinkie and fore finger, but can still keep the hand flat. What I can't seem to figure out is where he is dropping the chip.

Where do they drop tokes @ Bellagio? Box or shirt pocket?

fwiw i think most dealers at B truly believe they should be getting like $100+/hand when someone ships a pot in a bigger game.

Dealers are getting more and more brazen about this. I've been to casinos where the dealer has a trap door like device to his left. During the hand, he'll move chips over there, and after the hand, when everyone is waiting for the next hand, he'll drop the unsuspecting chips into an unknown dark place.

They are very sophisticated about this, they've figured down to a percentage/maximum how much they can steal without players noticing or complaining. At some casinos, they reserve 2$ or 3$ chips just for this theft. Hell, sometimes the floors come over to move their stolen chips away for them!
