i don't understand why OMG is so strict with his game selection with regards to PLO, yet he is willing to sit with erik at the 7 game tables?

maybe he thinks that his edge is big enough at PLO and NLHE to cancel Erik's edge at the HORSE games.

People never fail to amaze me.

His play was a semi bluff, he blocked the nut straight and had a weak redraw. I dont know how likely they are going to fold, but his line looks really strong in this spot.

It probably wasnt the best play of all time, but it cant be horrific.

And most importantly:

He won the hand

So his play was optimal.

This play wasnt bad in comparison to most of the hands played against gus. Usually they just ship it with 2nd pair no draw....oh and nobody folds in plo anymore,,,plo is the new limit poker.

.15 EV is actually fairly horrible in PLO... I guess he figured he had fold equity too (but based on the action and players involved, I'm not sure why).

Anyway, sometimes you make moves that just happen to work out.

Doubt he thought he had any FE, he just ran into the top of Gus and cts's ranges and sucked out.

gus gets in it way lighter than this all the time and no one says anything. why? because everyone thinks gus is a fish. everyone expects jman to never play bad or get it in bad, but it happens sometimes even to the best players
*** August High Stakes Thread *** Quote

Difference being gus gets it in light 50bb deep, not 200 and given the action that was going, Jman's move was spewy to say the least. It'd still be massively -EV if he got Gus out of the pot (since it looks clear CTS ain't going anywhere), even with the dead money.
