Do you sit in a windowless room and think, "well, this is all there is" too?

Anyway, I was asking for clarification, not tutelage.

I dont really go to 2+2 to talk about strategy, it makes no sense nowadays. You'd be hurting your EV line
08-17-2017 , 08:56 PM
lol guys... tbh I cheated and looked at some sims.

In these overbet jamming spots there are always hands that are "merges". Mostly to make bluffcatching not so "efficient".

Here for example, 99 is a 100% call ip vs jam because of blockers for most of BB's value range. ATo is one of those hands that is indifferent with multiple actions (same EV), but no human will really merge jam (called by 99, some worse pairs, fold out some better hands) since u can bet nai different sizes or even check. It is easy to see as a human that doing the other actions can never be a mistake, but v hard to know in game that it can be jammed for same EV. If you never merge jam here, IP can bluffcatch with straight blockers only. Might even be able to call with K5 (although might block some Q9 K9 bluffs idk).

However, a bot or a human with assistance will have no problems finding such merge jam hands (if you get it wrong e.g. and jam A9o here it is a huge error), and will have no problems making those plays.
08-17-2017 , 09:02 PM
I have reported numerous bots before on stars, mainly using EV error. Bot+humans can get smart and try to avoid making suspicious plays like the A8o on A83sss oborra hand, but they make very little EV errors.

However, such a way of analysing hands is not really feasible for deepstacked poker, and my experience reporting bots is mostly in spins and some hu hypers.

There is no way stars can do it at least, so I have no idea what they do when they investigate ppl and ask them to make videos.

Random question kind of on the topic of bots -

I used to play stars up to 25/50 and I had a LOT of trouble (aka lost a ton of money) to a guy named Analog Latka who I suspected was using a bot. I felt myself falling behind in the games and bought a bunch of his hands, along with who I considered the best 6max guys, OTB, averagegreg, ohuman, and saw that analogs style was very different from everyone else's, to the point where I definitely think he was using software of some sort. I emailed stars but never saw anything come of it. Now he seems gone, which wouldn't make sense because at the time I was playing he was beating everyone. Anyone know what came of him/if other players are playing a similar intriguing style?

Thanks

The Jungleman A8 hand is very suspect. I don't care what sort of endboss you are, no one knows lead flop, call raise, lead jam turn lines off the top of his head. Then again I've said in multiple posts in the past that you'd have to be pretty naive to play high stakes on Stars without a solver database in 2017.

The worst thing is that there's really no way for sites to combat this. It's looking pretty grim for the future of high stakes NL.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried to study his preflop sizing/strat (iirc he 3bet almost his entire range to 3 different sizes, seemingly randomized, and he 3bet EP raisers with a linear range, which no one really did) and emulate it a bit because i thought it had its merits, but in the end I was probably just chasing my tail (and probably don't understand truly why it worked so well).

Anyways, /strat. Wonder if Stars will ever refund what he took off me, heh
