Good article. Covers a lot of points I honestly had no idea about and I’ve been around poker and crypto for ages. Was blown away learning about Satoshi trying to create his own decentralised poker platform.

I also had no idea it was Moncada and his team of ex poker players that are behind blockfolio. This article explains the correlation between poker and crypto well.

Fascinating stuff. The screengrab of the bitcoin code that included stuff for showing poker tables and lobbies blew my mind a bit.

The article seems generally nonsense as far as "history" goes, reads like "Ancient Alien Visitors" stuff................but

it does highlight the potential future for projects like Virtue Poker. I would look forward to more discussion from Dan.

By way of disclosure, I provided some consulting advice to Virtue a few years back , but have not kept up on their progress or current direction. I do know that some of the difficulty of running poker on a blockchain* has been lessened in theory with the advent of Lightning and whatever the counterpart for Etherium is called.

I am surprised the writer didn't bother to discuss SatoshiDice, which in mid-2013 accounted for 80% of blockchain transactions or Etherium or its White Paper, which expressly referred to blockchain gambling as a prospective use case.

(*A decentralized poker platform has been extensively discussed in this forum, paging Nooseknot ? Anyone interested in that discussion can probably find it by search.)
