In todays poker economy there is a lot of disagreements. People think they are owed, people do owe, people steel, rob, and such. My question is, If player A says player B owes him money, Player B tells player A that hes doesnt. Player A publicly keeps telling people player B owes him money.

Situations like this come up a lot and can be arbitrated. If player A says lets arbitrate this, then he is free rolling player B. Player B says ok lets arbitrate this, but lets bet on the out come. Player B feels hes right and if hes going to arbitrate he wants upside. If player A refuses to bet on it, then he must not be that confident and should quit telling people player B owes him money.

If anyone says you owe them money either pay them or ask them to arbitrate it with up side for both. This would cut down on a lot of false accusations.

Shaun, please either accept my offer to bet on arbitration, or stop telling the public i owe you. Putting that on twitter is irresponsible.

If your not willing to bet you are usually wrong.

A simple im sorry Viffer will do, or lets find someone to arbitrate and bet.

I like the idea of people having to put their money where their mouth is.

Although how you arbitrate this sort of thing seems complicated enough already. If it's straight debt, then a verbal contract is worth the paper it's written on. If it's over the outcome of a bet, I guess you could arbitrate to prevent someone trying to weasel out of or into the money, like in Loki's wager.

People might argue no one is getting freerolled when it's reputations that are at stake.

But no one is being kept out of the HOF just for running their mouths... hey, then Mike the Mouth might never get in!

You do know NVG believes you hired hitmen to collect debt for you, right?

If you decide to give specifics on the situation, we can do the arbitration in this thread. You will get a huge sample size on whether you are right or the other guy is right. Case solved.

Debts and disputes over debts happen in the gambling world. If there's a dispute between two parties, then a 3rd party may need to resolve it. The problem is, if some random just shows up and says Phil Ivey owes me money, let's arbitrate this, then Phil Ivey has nothing to gain (but reputation) and potentially could lose money even if he's 100% innocent (because maybe the random can convince a 3rd party with lies) to agreeing to arbitrate. So it's a freeroll for the random. However, if the random says, let's arbitrate this, and we can make a significant sidebet on the outcome, then Phil Ivey would likely arbitrate and take the bet. If Phil Ivey refused to arbitrate and the sidebet was significant enough, it could potentially show guilt on Phil Ivey's side (according to Viff), although lack of proof (like verbal proof) could also be a reason to refuse this agreement.

gotcha

but if arbitrator route is a potentially flawed process for actual dispute, doesn't adding money to it just make it more flawed ?

Depends did you offer to put the amount he thinks you owe and the bet in escrow?
The win conditions of the bet have to be clarified too.
If the arbitrator decided you owe 50% of the perceived debt who wins the bet?
This is of course if the creditor can assume the debtor isn't going to pay without arbitration. If the creditor thinks there is a good chance the debtor will pay without arbitration it might not even make sense to arbitrate much less with a side bet. There are even scenarios in which the debtor never pays up without arbitration ,escrows and it still does not make sense to arbitrate with a side bet for the creditor.

He pays durrrr a penalty every month to avoid playing him and completing the challenge.

Viffer should get Ike to arbitrate but best to get his opinion before hand.
