I'm honestly at a loss for words right now, I have been reading and rereading the OP and it still doesn't seem real. Slider was one of my very first poker coaches way back when and he was always so encouraging and helpful. His love of life and contagious laughter made him almost seem immortal. I haven't talk to him in probably 9 years so it's very confusing why this is hitting me so hard. RIP Max.

I have confirmed Max has passed away. RIP buddy, you had a big impact on my life and I'll miss you.

Unfortunately i have confirmed with the Bettergram telegram admin that Max has indeed passed on. For those that did not know him Bettergram was a passion project in the cryptospace that Max had founded which aimed to improve the telegram messenger app.

Max was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around. Whenever I met him or got to spend time with him it made my day brighter. RIP and condolences to all his love ones.

Wow, at a loss for words.

Unlike most of you guys here I met Max here in the Philippines. First time around five years ago. I immediately noticed his passion for life and his drive for creating valuable businesses. He was one the smartest guys I ever met. Whenever I would talk business ideas with him, he would always have a very clear and broad picture of what needs to be done to succeed.

Met him just about ten days ago for lunch. I even told my friend that Max seemed a little distant/off today. Thought that maybe isolation got to him a little bit since he had been grinding Bettergram for a while as he intend on selling it soonish. I immediately invited him for a group dinner that weekend but never heard back from him...

Rest in piece mate, you'll be truly missed

It really has been wild to see a lot of screen names after so many years, I didn't know Max but this story resonates with me as someone who has been in poker just as long and now also has crypto as more of a part time or full time gig, I know it has been a turbulent ride and it just makes me sad that this likely is a suicide.

I wrote a long Facebook post on depression in the poker world a few years back that got a lot of traction and even though it's something that I feel like I've dealt with less than others, it's a topic that has always caught my attention. Intelligent, driven, successful individuals can be crippled by it.

Echoing Doug and others here, it's ok to need help. It's ok to speak up to your friends and admit that life is hard.

Also known Max for a few years whilst in Manila. Solid guy, who always seemed happy with life and was always busy with projects. He would have people over in his bachelor pad, crypto on the monitors, cat going ape**** with the Lazer and either a vape or fidget spinner in hand and he was talking about throwing a house party soon.

It's never easy to know how people are feeling and it is always sad when someone dies young when they have so much to live for....

OMG this is really sad . I met him in Bangkok and had a fantastic time hanging out with him and his sister years ago, still kept contact and chatted now and then. Was such a positive upbeat guy, damn, rip dude

Only knew him vaguely from the forums, but his impact can certainly be noticed by the who's-who of the s/msnl "golden years" coming out the woodwork to express how he touched their lives. Always sad to see an insider pass

Saw Max at his new condo last year, we gambled at SNG Jenga for part of the afternoon and he had an ear to ear grin on his face the whole time. He was like a kid on christmas morning even though we were gambling at some random game for dinner money. Have a couple videos of this and his cat "baby crypto" on my phone.

Was really sad to get this news, this guy was always shooting for the stars and I think he had a good chance of getting there. Does anyone know what happened?

Hope this doesn't offend anyone but would be cool to see pictures of him with people having a good time. It would be a nice way to remember him.

One of guys I knew from #msnl. RIP. With black friday and poker dying out, I ended up losing touch with him.

Met Max in Montreal back in 2008. He was a fun, energetic, happy guy. The degen night he organized was amazing. Definitely a poker memory I'll never forget.

To any of his family and friends that may be reading this, I send my heartfelt condolences.
