He is/was a broke railbird who frequents Los Angeles area casinos trying to get a buy-in into small tourneys and/or low limit poker games. This was the case both before and after the WSOP final table. The real question I have always had is how he got a buy-in into a WSOP event in the first place.

Whatever happened to her, too? I used to play 40/80 with her at the Commerce. Always good for the game. And at the Commerce, her vulgarity just fit right in.

I see him at Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood asking people for money on a regular basis. I actually got his number or a number where I could reach him to arrange an interview for the Maniac Poker Show.......we'll see....ha ha.

I saw him back in '05 or '06 at the Spring Poker Roundup at Wildhorse Resort in Pendleton, OR. He was playing all the $200 tourneys, staying at the same seedy hotel as myself, & driving a beatup PokerBlue.com van with no hubcaps. Classic.

There used to be an awesome blog by a dude living in Vegas, who let Powers crash on his couch during the next two WSOPs after that televised final table. The entries mostly recounted Ellix smoking all the author's weed while they watched action movies and played internet backgammon. It also talked about how he found stakers (including a paraplegic who Powers referred to only as 'Wheels', not having bothered to learn his real name) and occasionally they would go outside and get into altercations with passers-by. It was pretty amazing.
