Do you guys get a sense that he understands what has happened to him?

ye I think he understood that since august

He knows he has had a bad brain injury and has to work hard in his therapies every day to improve.

He communicated that he doesn't remember the summer at all and it's a little hard to tell what memory he has and doesn't have, but he definitely remembers his friends and family, knows his name (he was able to write it with some help recently) I think much of his memory is in tact from before the damage.

As Gabe mentioned we have set up an email address today so people can send video/text messages that could be played/read for him. Especially on the weekends he isn't doing too much and it would be a big lift to his spirits to hear from people who care about him.

Kevin is very lucky to have such great friends! Hope he's doing well.

Kevin and I were roommates from about '06-'08 and when I saw him a month or so ago I asked him if he remembered living with me and he signaled yes so I was happy to know that.

also, was thinking maybe as a community we could do a (another if one has been done) fundraiser. maybe this summer in vegas, first thing that comes to mind 'fight for kevin'. poker players beat the **** out of each other in some form of organized fighting (boxing, MMA, muay thai), have it just before the main. obviously done responsibly with head gear, a medic just in case, etc. thats the best i came up with, im sure someone could do better.... or you can fight me.

Kevin is home from rehab.

The shower of support and sheer goodwill and unquestionable generosity shown in this thread is what makes me proud to be apart of this poker community. Nothing but warmth and humane compassion from friends, players and even strangers warms my heart.

From John Juandas 10k donation to the 2k's, 1k's 500's, 200's is just amazing.

I do not know Kevin, but what i have seen in his videos, he is an incredible guy and a valuable asset to the Poker community.

I wish you a speedy recovery and my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

On Nov 30th I watched an amazing video of Kevin eating and drinking on his own. Apparently Kevin had started on a new medication which (from my point of view) made a huge impact on Kevin's motor skills. During my visit to Colorado a while back, any type of movement was a challenge for Kevin. I hope Kevin's progress has continued this positive uptrend but I'm not sure how he's been doing lately other than being home from rehab.



Kevin's girlfriend is freakin angel. And obviously Kevin's parents. These three were pivotal in Kevin's rehab at the hospital and of course will continue to be. Their presence has been so crucial. And many other friends and family members who continue to visit Kevin and provide support in whatever ways they can.

This thread on 2+2 is awesome. Please continue to leave your messages to Kevin here as they will eventually get to him! All encouraging words are greatly appreciated in this thread.

Wow, he's looking great! When this story first broke, i cried reading it. (I never cry ever)

I remember telling my mum about it and the overwhelming support he was getting through that charity website. He is truly inspirational as to is the community.
I am eagerly awaiting future updates about Kevin.
