thats really awesome.

For his current state- which sounds near about as difficult a human can go through- I recommend audiobooks instead of the TV they probably have going on in his room playing the Price is Right which he is getting mighty sick of.

And of course, for his friends, just stay as long as you can and talk about whatever but just keep him company.

Great news. Hope he recovers completely.

Never met Kevin, but am definitely sending whatever positive vibes/thoughts/prayers to him and his family/friends. From everything I've seen about him, he seems like he a great person. It is nice to hear good news on his recovery so far!

sometimes you think you got it rough, but most people have no idea how good they have it. hope all can realize this. dont know kevin but i hope the best for him in recovery. hang in there

I remember the first time I saw Kevin at the WSOP ME, and I thought to myself, "this kid has such great talent." I wish nothing but the best for both him and his family. You have me in your prayers.

It's been a couple of weeks since our last update. For some time, although Kevin was making progress, it was very slow. This past week he's picked up the pace of his progress. In terms of where he is now, it's not much different than where he was before his second brain surgery. That was really a setback. The doctors continue to tweak his meds. They recently started the same steroid that athletes get in trouble for to help with strength and weight gain. He is still down 30 lbs from his normal weight. The three primary therapists that work with Kevin are amazing at what they do. Kevin works through about 5 hrs of therapy a day and it wears him out. There are many people that follow Kevin's story that have never seen or met him so I shared a picture waiting to watch Sunday football. Thanks for everyone's continued prayers, thoughts and blessings.

This story had me close to tears when i first read it. He seemed like an amazing guy. Please God, one time, let Kevin fully recover.

i saw a video of him Phwapping Urindanger for 40k in PLO online. Something tells me this kid is good at beating the odds.

His mom posted this to FB most recently:

"Well our dear family and friends today marks 4 months that Kevin Boudreau suffered an AVM. He has undergone surgeries, infections, and so much more, but every day he gets a bit stronger. As most of you know he has recently smiled and laughed out loud.We thank God every day for giving him the strength to endure physical, occupational, and speech therapy. We feel Kevin is coming back to us. The ability to show how he feels is another sign of his recovery. HIs body is gaining strength and he has put on about 10 pounds. Kevin still is eating through a feed tube, but recently tried some mashed potatoes and was able to tolerate them. He has difficulty swallowing and chewing. The therapist have brought in yes and no buttons that Kevin can push to help us communicate with him. We have seen his sense of humor when answering questions . Jim asked Kevin if he could ask him a question again in a half hour and Kev told him "no". Samantha Kathrein and Kevin celebrated 4 years together on Friday October 11, woohoo! We as always thank everyone who keeps Kevin in their prayers, has come to visit, calls and checks in, and is there for our family. God is great and may he continue to give Kevin's doctors, nurses, nurses aides, therapist, friends, and family the strength to keep moving forward. — feeling hopeful."

Apathy, GP, and Snagglepuss were visiting Kevin at the hospital the past couple of days. I Skyped them and Kev and we messed around for a bit.

They set up Kevin's Yes/No buttons that were referred in Ansky's above post to say some hilarious phrases that had everyone cracking up. (Sorry can't remember the phrases lol) Was good to see Kevin enjoying himself and of course Sam and Kevin's parents being so supportive.

kevin has not started talking yet but he has some movement in his right arm. he can answer on the yes/no buttons but that limits him to only communicating when asked a yes/no question. so we programmed one to say "go on" and another to say "y'all crazy." this way he could just hit them whenever in the middle of conversation, which could give him an outlet for some expression

he seemed to fully understand the dialogue and would mash the buttons when appropriate. he had some really funny "y'all crazy" comments that made him laugh loud along with us. he even used to zing a doctor. it was really great seeing this improvement because its obvious he hasn't lost his personality. also today he walked for 17m in a harness on a treadmill with the therapists moving his legs. he isn't close to walking on his own but you could tell he was working hard and is determined to restore himself

we are going to record a mini video blog about it and solicit video responses from anyone that would like to send him a message. more info soon

I am glad to hear that Kevin is making progress, however slow and frustrating it is, and that he has family and good friends around to keep his spirits high (and the tremendous medical help he is receiving).
