Any updates on Kevin Boudreau's condition?? Any updates on Kevin Boudreau's condition??

i just think its pretty ****ed up that when not a single thing has been mentioned about him ever using drugs, or drugs playing a part in his condition for someone to be like "sure hope he wasn't on drugs".
just so unnecessary and stupid. this thread isn't a PSA on the dangers of drug use, this is a thread to wish kevin the best and show the communities support (which his family has already stated means a ton) so why on earth someone would feel compelled to speculate with absolutely no basis on whether he was abusing drugs is beyond me.
i mean alcoholism and constant crack cocaine use could prolly cause some severe health issues as well i wonder if kevin was a raging drunk crack head.

also i would love for the poster who made that statement to provide any kind of medical evidence that links drug use to the condition kevin has, and let us know which drugs exactly can cause what he has.

I know he was taking the alpha brain supplements, I doubt that had anything to do with it. Kevin was acutely aware of how your lifestyle can affect your health. In a couple of his videos he touches on the subject and references the findings of that dr that leatherass (is that his name?) went to that told him that online poker is bad for your brain.
Briefly met Kevin and played with him too and bottom line is that he is a good guy with a positive and charismatic disposition.
I can't help but think that he will eventually recover.

Hope the guy gets better.

Drug comments have no place here.

Have a little common sense folks.

At this point, the whole drug talk is irrelevant. This thread should be about supporting the guy and keeping updated with his recovery. I've subbed his YouTube channel for quite some time now and he's one of the people I look up to quite a lot in the poker community. I'm really hoping he makes it through this. I'm busto right now but imma scrounge what cash I can find and try to make a contribution and I think other 2+2ers should do the same instead of whining about ****ty twitter comments or irrelevant speculated drug use.

I completely understand the emotional nature of this thread, but may I suggest that instead of quoting and derailing a thread in order to call out a bad post, you hit the report button and let us delete it?

The more you quote it, the more attention you bring it, the more you derail the true purpose of the thread, and the harder it becomes to clean up the thread. Remember the term "don't feed the trolls".

Holy cow I honestly was not insinuating that he did drugs ever in his life and especially not that drugs caused the condition. I was just expressing the hope that Kevin honoured his condition and took care of himself and did not take any foolish risks to precipitate this stroke.
I do apologize though that my post inflamed some sensibilities causing a derailment of this thread.

Let's please refocus on wishing Kevin a speedy recovery.

i saw him last night. he looked pretty relaxed compared to when i first visited him, and when i talked to him he started blinking his closed eyes and moving his body some. the nurse man said that kevin was responding, it didnt have anything to do with his current food/medicine. also yesterday someone saw his unfocused eyes open for a second.

im not a doctor but these all seem like good things to me. not only is kevin cool, but hes tough. im betting on him

also its nice to see this number climb as it makes the situation a little less stressful for kevins family http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fun...draiser-/67628

Wishing Kevin the best and hope he pulls through this, I believe he will.

I saw Randy Dorfman donated 1 thousand twice and made a tweet asking other to do the same and pray for him etc

Props to Randy, Jonathon Little and David Benefield ...thanks to all of you that donate what little you might be able to. I never heard of Kevin before that happened but it must be terrible for his family so I hope they get back to normal again.

Fwiw, you can pick up the green wrist band from the Gambler's Book Club booth at the WSOP. You can also donate there. Thanks.

This is very tragic what happened to this young guy. Being someone who works in a Cardiac ICU, I can attest that some terribly awful things happen to those to young, or to those who haven't put decades of stress and terrible things in their bodies.

If there is anything I can add, it would be to understand that when someone is critical in the ICU, we see progress in weeks/months, and not days. It truly is a marathon, but every small step is a victory, but do not be surprised if there are some delays in progress or it seems like recovering is slow... It really can be.

I will say though, I have seen awesome things happen to young people. Youth truly saves some peoples lives, and it really sounds like the huge pushing issue here is the million dollar question when it comes to anoxic/hypoxic events is; How long did this young man go without oxygen/blood supple to the parts of his brain where this injury occurred.

Best wishes to the family.

Hoping for a full recovery here.

I don't really know Kevin -- I only know of him -- but we were both victims of the AP scandal and give him props for calling out Ben Mezrich on Twitter just a short time before this tragic event hit him.

GL to him.

#2. I did a year of alternative service (instead of going to the military) in a traumatic brain injury unit. Amazing to see how young people are able to recover compared to older people with the same kind of injury.

Last fall a friend of mine suffered a ruptured aneurysm in her brain at age 29. The initial diagnosis was very bad, but she made it and has made steady progress since. Only a couple weeks back she was able to move her left side for the first time and doctors say it's very well possible that she's walking again before the end of the year. Unfortunately they are not sure if she will be able to speak again, but we are all optimistic that will happen as well.

Best wishes to Kevin!

Juanda is the boss. I'll donate a buy-in myself. Next to nothing compared to what Juanda just did, but it's something at least.
