Re: Allegations of Cheating in WSOP 10k HU

Why couldn't they have inspected the cards after allegations where made for any type of residu or markings?

Re: Allegations of Cheating in WSOP 10k HU

fwiw I've been cheated in a cash game by a marked deck (with invisible ink) and contact lenses. It would be nearly impossible to miss it after you've been cheated that way once. The way the cheating players were looking at the cards dealt was so different than anyone I've ever played with and sounds very similar to what Connor is describing.

The difference is that in my case they were able to get a marked deck in the game and sneak it out later. To mark a deck while playing sounds a lot harder, but I imagine doable.

It would be interesting to hear if he returned to his "stalling" ways every time they changed a deck.

My reaction as well.

I imagine it'll be very tough (if not impossible) to track down the decks from Day 1.

Unbelievable

What could possibly go wrong?
Maybe the WSOP can add a second heads up event next year where cheating is not only allowed, but encouraged.

Where did this cash game take place, out of curiosity?

I'm starting to question who the dealer was in this event? As of last year the WSOP started contracting European dealers too so possibly an accomplice?

I'd call utter crap on that allegation and besides that the European dealers didn't get any work visa this year as WSOP screwed the planning for it up.

So because someone is a European dealer they should be scrutinized??? Should we scrutinize the American dealers with Lehr?

Re: Allegations of Cheating in WSOP 10k HU

Hello everybody, I have been playing with this guy 3-4 times a week for 5-6 weeks in Prague, CZ about a year ago. At first we played PLO $2/$2 (50/50 CZK) with multiple straddles on, offen plaing over 24 hours sessions and this guy run crazy hot. He played very strange, making horrible getins, playing almost every hand, gambling a lot so we though he is the fish on a heater. He was the biggest winner most of the time, but imo this was based on his unbelievable luck (winning 1-2 outs on the turn many times etc). When no big games were running he played $0,5/$1 (10/20 CZK) where he gambled like crazy. He lost big most of the times there, though I remember session where he won over 25 BIs - 50K CZK ($2k).

Strange things started to happen when we switched to NLH $2/$4( 50/100CZK). He run over the tables every time we played, winning big every time, playing extremly strange. I remember many hands I lost to him. He was known to make sick big/overpot value bets with weak top/second pairs in spots his line did not make sense at all so he was getting paid by worst many times. Everytime ace or king was on the flop he puts you to the ultimate test on his triple barrel bluffs, x/r rivers. He got caught sometimes by some 3rd pair, showing two random cards.
Games were usually pretty deep - about 400bb so you can imagine how hard it is to play agains this type of style which at that time seemed completely random but extremely successful at the same time.
He was taking time on every decision he made, asking players how much they have left multiple times during the hand - force them to show him their stack and cards most of the time too.

After 3 huge winning sessions in a row (winning over $4k @2/4 everytime) he was escorted from the casino right in the middle of the next session and banned in all casinos in Prague he ever played in. We have got info from casino manager he was bending Aces and Kings which explain presure he was putting on people on ace or king high boards. To this date I find this explanation incomplete and I am pretty sure there is something more to it.
If we only had time to use this info agains him and get our money back

Re: Allegations of Cheating in WSOP 10k HU

Perhaps he used some form of ink/die/solution that is only visible from the exact lens type in his glasses. And/or perhaps this "ink" has a form of dissolve making it untraceable after a certain time.

All these things should be fairly easily doable in this age, at least I would of thought.

Then again I was hoping for a cheap cure for boldness by now, but that hasn't fekin happened yet

I can't imagine how bending cards would not be noticed in a casino. Its not the 1800's anymore. People are used to newish decks. Dealers and players are experienced. Any bent card stands out. Inks..OK. Bent cards..I just can't imagine it.

Re: Allegations of Cheating in WSOP 10k HU

does the casino have footage from all the matches? or does the eye in the sky only show a live feed?

and what should they do to make it right if they find out he was cheating? how should the players he busted get compensated?

Why so offended by my post? I suggested that its quite possible the dealer and he could have been colluding somehow.
Congrats with your 'stupidest post itt' remark. Really cool stuff.

That was exactly my reaction when manager told me. How the hell did I not notice that. I have been playing with that guy over a month... perhaps I was not looking for it and believed he is a fish on a heater.

About marked decks - card security during poker games was in a stone age in our country a year ago. We used to play with same decks for days until the deck was visible damaged/dirty. There were like 4-5 tables daily in the casino so there was a good chance if he marked the deck one day, he would be dealt the same deck next day.

From Jack Effel on Twitter:

We are aware, monitoring very closely w/all resources @ our disposal. Those include surveillance/security,forensic examination of cards, etc
2/2 We take integrity very seriously, as evidenced by our lifetime bans, and would enjoy nothing more than catching a cheater in our midst.
