It's possible Double-A really loves his life and the detractors are jealous of how much better he has it.

Or he is just another fake online personality that broadcasts their life on social media trying to appear as happy as possible all the time while telling everyone how much they "love their life" to hide the fact that they are miserable, desperate for attention, and lonely people.

Or he's just a douche.

Alec has a lovely supportive wife and seems to be doing what he loves, traveling the world and such. Much of his online persona is phony motivational BS, but I'm sure he's happy.

Given how much he's scheming these days, and the failure of ventures like CrypTorelli and oil necklaces, I would assume he's not as well off as he lets on. Maybe hard times are ahead, but for now he seems okay.

I think all of us here enjoy following Alec and his poker career. Dude is a character.

Fixed. Fortunately it looks like Alec's version was only up for about a week. Not only does he erase the controversy section, but he also tries to link to his websites and social media channels.

Garret seems like a very bright guy. I trust his perceptions of Alec. I watched those shows with Alec and tbh he barely interacted with the other people at table. Not that being silent is wrong but when it is "alec torelli week" why don't you chat it up with your table mates. I think he spoke up once when someone mentioned politics but for most he was buried in his phone.

Still boggles my mind that somehow people have been tricked and convinced that Alec Torelli was shooting an angle trying to play a massive pot with ACE QUEEN.

Truly shameful to pin him as an angle shooter for that silliness. Absurd.

Way to jump into the conversation a year after the event! The jury is already in and the video has been carefully analyzed by numerous folks. Alex is an angle shooting scumbag and Danny once again backs a scumbag that he thinks is a friend of his.

More likely just "enemy of my enemy is my friend" pettiness. He does this a lot, even if the person he's supporting is indefensible.

I don't exactly agree with DNegs on this, but if you watch the video he made about the Alec Torelli incident he (DNegs) said he didn't think it was an angle *comparatively speaking* and gave some examples of other incidents, some of them very entertaining and unusual, that he considers to be full blown angles.

Big to-do about nothing here! Why would Alex want to trap someone into going all-in when his hand is not that strong? Wolf went all-in in an attempt to steal the pot and it almost worked. Alex thought long and hard before calling even after seeing Wolf's reaction to the extra 10k in chips. There were a lot of hands that Wolf could have had that would make this hand a toss up at best for Alex.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that if you're angle shooting or just generally being a jerk you can make yourself a target. You should not do anything at that table that draws unwanted attention.

EXAMPLE: You are in level 1 of a tournament and twice you have tried to talk to the guy next to you while he was in a hand. What do you think is going to happen? The guy is going to get mad, the dealer might say something, or maybe everyone at the table is going to dislike you.

Don't draw attention to yourself. Players might start watching you more closely, which means getting better reads on your play. Or villain might talk to you nonstop when you're in a hand, just to get even.

If your name is Phil Hellmuth you might get away with a lot. If your name is Joe Smith, probably not.

How is it that PHil doesn't get a "**** off" from most people at the tables? The way he acts on tv, if he said anything dickish that would be a go to for me. Dude is just unlikable as anyone ever at the poker tables.


It's not about being tough or anything, it's about keeping dickheads away from you as a lifestyle.
