Saw the entire thing. With Amazon Prime you get one free twitch channel a month and I signed up for LATB twitch.

That was horribly akward when Alec was begging Joey to interview and get to know him for like 20 minutes. Alec was telling Joey how to do an interview and Joey was like either raging or laughing, I could not tell.

Also Alec was refusing to apologize for anything but accidentally putting the chips behind (and in fact thought his in person apology was sufficient.)

Did you note that Alec said he would pay $100k to make the incident go away? Well I wonder if Wulf will take him up on that offer even at 1/10th? ($10k)

Thomas nice call in. Good points and helpful regarding the editing.

Outside of the one well documented hidden chip, I've never heard of any other incidents. What are you referring to exactly?

Legend has it that on summer nights, when you point your ear to the east and the wind is just right, you can still hear Alec searching for that stable internet connection. I'm sure one day he'll find it and finally put this matter to rest.

I thought the part where AT forced Joey to talk about “traveling” was super cringe.

Having watched the interview/conversation, Torelli comes across as someone I would have very little to nothing in common with. Aside from the (negative) poker-related stuff I know about him, people who talk about being "influencers" or improving their "brand" or seem to have a need to focus on the positive tend to make me uncomfortable, and he's no exception.

And I like Joey and his podcasts. But...I can't help but think he could have done better than this. People interview others whom they disagree with/dislike all the time, and they're able to produce a good interview that offers insight into the interviewee's mind. When a psychologist/journalist interviews a killer in prison, they loathe the person's behavior but they're not just going to sit in front of the person and say "I hate killers like you". Obviously that's pointless.

I guess I wish Joey was more prepared/willing to engage with Alec, even though he seemed to feel like doing so would be betraying himself/his friends/the community. It's not betrayal, though: it's actually more like manipulating the person you're talking with into revealing more of themselves because they feel comfortable with you. And while it requires a certain of amount of self-sacrifice in the moment, it's very much worth it content-wise. Given Alec's personality, I have little doubt that he would not have come across well in a more mature, balanced conversation/interview: he's just not likable for a bunch of reasons. But the way it went down...it almost made him a sympathetic figure. Almost.

He'd pay 100K to make it go away??...what a joke. He had a chance that day to simply tell Wulf, "my bad man, I should have had my big chips out front, LIKE I KNOW I'M SUPPOSED TO. Let's just make it a 10K pot and we'll move on." It may have cost him a few K that day, but he would have been seen in a positive light for owning up to his mistake and respecting the integrity and rules of the game. Instead, he looked like a fool trying to offer Wulf a % of this or that. He did that because he knew he was wrong and didn't have the integrity or the wherewithal to resolve the situation right then and there. The poker community would have respected that and that would have been the end of it.

I wonder if Turdelli actually convinced himself that he is innocent simply by repeating it so often or if he knows he cheated and just wont admit it?

Joey could have been more prepared even asking Alec about the angling.

Instead of being like "whats that guy's name in the kitchen, with a video, have you seen a video of a guy in a kitchen?" then later saying "supersoaker" .....

Joy could have referenced the actual good points of the video. Like where Alec pretends to fix his chips while looking for a reaction from Wolf.

Force Alec to respond to the actual good points rather than just generally throwing out "guy in a kitchen".

BTW I would bet Alec HAS seen the video lol. Pretty sure people on twitter have sent it to him.

Dude go re-watch the Ssupersoak video and Alec's reaction before he was exposed.
It was a well thought out, intientional strategy set up long time before the hand happened and he was very proud of how clever it was, he's not gonna give up the edge he built up right there.

He'd pay 100k NOW because it exposed his high psychopathic traits
(which is great if you're a poker player, not so great if you want to build a brand based around morals)

Completely agree with this. He didn't prepare what he was going to say, so all Alec had to do was say "well, I think we just disagree" and there was nothing more that Joey could push on.

That being said, joey is not a reporter so it's not his job to be prepared -- but he obviously went into this with an idea of what he wanted to hear, so I would have liked to hear that conversation.

Also @ the "lets just make it a 10k pot" comment. This has been discussed in depth, there wasn't really a fair way to correct it in real-time. Wolf cannot agree to any deal because it gives up the strength of his hand, and if Alec offers a deal after-the-fact, then he was getting free-rolled as he would have gotten nothing back if he lost the hand.

That being said, the general consensus is that since it was his mistake he must accept losing equity via getting free-rolled.

Alec brought up the point on Joey's podcast that he "offered a deal", but failed to mention that it was impossible for Wolf to accept that deal.

to me
Hey,

I'm excited to tell you about an opportunity
for us to work together and for you to help us
grow our brand at ConsciousPoker.

I'm looking for someone to help me run the daily business operations
- from setting up affiliate marketing campaigns to creating landing pages
to overseeing our team completing tasks to growing the business.

I'll be looking to you to bring new ideas to the table and creative ways to grow our brand.

The job will be full time and you'll be able to work remotely

You'll need technical skills like setting up affiliate programs,
fixing email automations (Active Campaign), email marketing,
setting up landing pages, product launches, SEO strategy
and managing our growing database of customers through technical support.

In general, you'll need to be able to handle any
and all online technical problem-solving situations.

I can't wait to meet you and begin working together.

If you think you'd be a good candidate for this job,
simply reply to this email and let me know how you can help.

Thanks in advance for your time.
Alec

I just watched the ssupersoak video and I have to agree 100% - his behavior clearly seems to indicate he did it intentionally.

The way he was “counting” his chips ( I didn’t realize counting to 2 was that difficult) and the almost amateurish look on his face while he was doing it.

In that moment, it looks like he went from seasoned professional to weekend poker granny.

BTW, has anyone seen that he’s hiring? The timing of that email arriving in my Inbox couldn’t be more hilarious right now. Should I apply and ask him how much it pays?

Look at the way he jams that water bottle top into his mouth! Completely oblivious to the fact he is on camera.

The top of the water bottle is screwed on and he is sucking on it like a pacifier. A grown man sucking on a pacifier. Can someone say oral fixation?

Great vid btw SrslySirius.

The video of Alec Torelli fellating a bottle? No, I was not given express permission to use that.

he's convinced himself he's innocent bc he's a sociopath, he did something that benefited himself with disregard for someone else, or for what's fair, but bottom line he still got the $$ which was what really mattered. that's how sociopathy works. in that regard he feels he owes no apology to himself or to anyone else.

The inconvenience for him atm is that in the court of public opinion he is still very much guilty of being a self serving scumbag, which negatively affects his brand, and therefore his ability to siphon off extra money and admiration from the poker community. he's tried over and over again to manipulate people into thinking that he's actually a decent caring guy; but at the same time he has had numerous opportunities to make the situation right (i.e. why not publicly give the 10k to charity if he didn't feel he was completely entitled to it?) while again and again failing to do so. for him the benefit to reward isn't there, (can he really make 10k off the public by rectifying the situation, and semi improving him image?) so he just continues to weasel on.

if he wasn't still focused on building a brand for the sole purpose of self promotion he wouldn't give a single runny **** about what people thought of him at all.

one last thing that I'll add, is that the recent angle he ran on live at the bike (with the dropped chip) might actually be evidence that now he considers this type of anti-social behavior to actually be beneficial to his brand. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we now continue to see him take bolder and bolder angles, as he might figure that he not only directly benefits, but also benefits indirectly from the extra attention. I guess time will tell, but I would imagine we haven't seen the last of the shady behavior.
