Forgive me but what's the perky scandal?

Alec was owed money by Perky. Perky wanted to chip dump the money he owes. Alec obliged. The money Perky dumped wasn't Perky's, it was his backers. Did Alec know the money wasn't Perky's? If Alec did know the money wasn't Perky's was it actually unethical to accept the chip dump?

Now everyone can find out by checking Alec's wikipedia page

a couple of years ago, torelli sold an acquaintance of mine (well-known HS pro, lets call him A) a piece in a 5k/10k HKD game in macau. torelli started to play and after few hours was down a few buyins.

At this point, torelli claims, he sent a text message to A stating that he was lowering his piece. A never received this text message. Torelli goes on to win back his losses and ends up a winner in the game.

When it comes time to settle up, A is surprised to hear he is getting paid less than he thought. Torelli says he texted him, A says he never received it, Torelli shows him the message on his phone (it failed to send, and torelli didnt realise, apparently).

Result (after much argument of course) A ends up getting over 1m HKD less than he expected, due to no fault of his own.

Of course it goes without saying, in my opinion, that if Torelli had carried on losing in the game, that 'failed message' simply never gets mentioned.

This story is well known on the Macau scene, but what really prompted me to write it was Torelli's offer to make it up to Wolf by selling him pieces in future games. stay well away

I read the Perky thing on his Wiki, did he actually just stop posting in the thread in question? Holy ****.

Rewrite of the WIKI page looks great... if it even saves one person some dollars when dealing with this cheater, even better....

100% Doug Polk wayyyyy out of line for making his video.

Watch the Alec Torelli video and you will 100% have a different view of both Doug and Alec. Alec did nothing wrong other than have his big chips in the middle. He has multiple attempts to make things right and even after the fact he did as well.

My only thing, if Alec was willing to sell him "a piece" and telling him he will "get his money back" then Alec should just give him the $10k and not sell him action. I don't even think he needs to do either! He made multiple attempts AT THE TABLE and the Wizard had every chance to speak up.

Also, LOL at the Wizard asking for $10K AFTER the fact of losing the hand. Complete garbage pail. Would he have gave the $10K back to Alec if he won? No.

I don't think Alec properly considered the Wikipedia blowback in his "cost-benefit" analysis of going north/angling gambit.
