It was hilariously awkward. I got the impression that Alec expected to get a few tough questions out of the way early, so they could chitchat about his essential oil necklaces and answer some fan mail.
Instead, Joey rejected most of his answers and continued pressing about the angleshooting incident. Alec got increasingly flustered until the subject was briefly changed. Joey seemed disinterested in much of what he had to say, and many conversation cues from Alec were met with uncomfortable silence.
The topic of DNegs/Stars briefly came up, and they disagreed on whether or not he's a totally swell guy.
Called him Alex a few times.
Alec complained that Joey wasn't trying to get to know him, relate to him about yoga/exercise/traveling/etc. Joey insisted it wasn't his job to repair Alec's reputation. Alec was also upset that he wasn't getting a chance to interact with the audience. Probably for the best, as they had been relentlessly mocking him.
Joey tried to take some calls, but couldn't figure out how to do 3-way calling on Skype. Alec suggested that Joey might be planting some callers. Joey stated plainly that he thinks Alec gives off a phony vibe and that he didn't believe a word he had said. Then he hung up.
Joey took a few calls after that, including one from me in which I took issue with Alec's "deceptive editing" claims, and called it a sesh. 1 hour 12 minutes.
